We ordered Polpette Formaggio as Appetizer and World famous Classic European Pizza and Entree. Polpette Formaggio is oven baked... meatball with house-made pizza sauce and bread crumbs, and it's Nello's Original! Classic European is deep-dish Pizza and oliveoil based, with garlic ricotta, garden fresh tomatoes and sausage. It's a 1996 dough recipe -- mouthwatering! This is the best thin crust Chicago style pizza that I ever had! Their thin crust which had cornmeal underneath, and I ask for... pepperoni, bacon, onions and garlic. When they brought out my pizza, it was a thing of beauty. They put thick full slices ofbacon that was crispy, the cheese stretches when I took a bite, and the tomato sauce tasted fresh because they don't use anytomato paste. Recently went here for dinner with the family. Food was okay, sure Due to pizza bring served slightly warm but not yet cold. The... issue was the iced tea. There appears to be mold or something in the teas. All 5 drinks had this black stuff at the bottom.Pretty gross! They didn't really seem too surprised. Read more
My son took me here for Mother's day lunch. I had the eggplant parm. Large portion, delicious. Great service. I love Nellos.
Come for the pizza, stay for the caprese. This is by far some of the best pizza I've had anyplace in the US. I've traveled coast... to coast and this pizza can go up against anything around. All the staff is super friendly and food comes out quick. I onlywish they had one in NV, but than I would be 1000lbs. Read more
Oh Nellos, how much I have missed you!! I can't tell you how many years it has been since I've had Nellos pizza, but it still... tastes the same. Same authentic crust, toppings, and feel. Wow! After so many years how are they able to keep the same amazingtaste? I am not sure, but my friends and I all agreed that the food was delicious! We had a little improptu high school reunionand Nellos is right up the street from the high school we all graduated from. Nellos was always the go to spot for me for greatpizza! They were able to get us sat on the patio with heaters. Our waiter was attentive and very kind. I decided to get theirsmall pizza with original crust and spinach and pepperoni toppings. Wow! Every bite was sooo good! The cheese was full offlavor, so cheesy and thick! The thick crust made everything pop and I am so glad that I have leftovers! I also got a chance totry their seasoned French fries that were so delicious as well! I will be back for sure and will continue recommending Nellosfor years to come! Read more
I remember my first visit to Nello?s as a 5th grader (wayyyy too many years ago). It was amazing then, and in the 3 decades... since, it has stayed that way. Now my kids feel the same way. There are only so many places that you experience as a childthat are still thriving and give you the opportunity to experience with your kids. Nello?s is a local treasure. Local biasaside, I think it?s the best deep dish around. Say what you will about the more recent Chicago imports, but this is still thebest in the Valley. BTW - the house dressing on the salad it?s ridiculous. Think Dorothy Lynch? on steroids. Service isalways friendly and casual. Read more
