Gorgeous building and grounds. Nice staff. BUT, in dire need of updating - our room needs painting and new (or shampooed)... carpet - furniture throughout is worn and doesn't even match. Staff is nice but need training ! Breakfast is very poor - onlypremade casseroles or eggs that have been watered down. The only really GOOD thing here is dinner - they have a good chef andthe food is very good. HOWEVER - the wait staff is not properly trained on how to serve in a fine dining establishment. Platesare whipped away when one person is done (don't wait for both) - wait staff dress dressed in dirty clothing... Wine list isdreadful and dreadfully overpriced for the items on it. Nothing good or interesting. Wait staff are also bar tenders and toldus "we can look it up in the book" when asking about having a Cosmo... Clearly no knowledgeable about wine or mixed drinks. Worst of all - owners are not present or helping their staff!!! On Thanksgiving the wait staff were clearly over worked -service was dreadful - with one owner flitting through asking "everything good?" - Owners live on site but seem to be very"hands off". Only a quick run through saying "everything good?" ... This place could be wonderful - but needs a lot ofupdating and training to get there. On the good side - great pillows!!!!!!!!!!!! Read more

Multiple members of my family have stayed at this historic Inn in the past. I stayed in 2011 in the main house. This time I was... lucky enough to stay in the Carriage House which had a much bigger suite and a soaker jet tub. Highly recommend! The feather bedwas exquisite! Peaceful quiet and the place to myself! I'll be back???? Read more

A wonderful place for a romantic weekend getaway. We were there for one of the Wine Weekend events and we met some great... people, drank some amazing wine and generally had a great experience with Sommelier Marc Supsic. The wine dinner was fantastic. Read more

My return for a Summer stay after the enchanting Winter trip. I again enjoyed every minute of this delicious stay in the green,... with the sound of the cicadas, birds and carillon in the far. The veranda was my favorite place to stay and I enjoyed everylittle detail; The food was delicious and the entire personal is so attentive and kind, they make you feel like royalty. Irecommend to everyone who wants to enjoy time out of our crazy world. I will return during the Fall and am sure the spell willlast... Read more

We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience! The town of Mercersberg, just steps from the inn, was a charming town,... and the inn made it that much more special. It felt like we stepped back decades as we walked through the rooms of the inn andenjoyed our clean and comfortable room on the third floor. The owner and host was extremely helpful in getting us checked in andin making sure our stay was enjoyable. We also loved the breakfast, served on a covered porch. We?re looking for an excuse to goback soon! Read more

My wife and I stayed here for a Valentine's Day getaway. Upon arrival, we received our room key and information regarding... breakfast options, our dinner reservation, and check-out policies. Our dinner was exceptional! The food is of great qualityand the menu is reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Excellent servers as well. After dinner, we noticed our roomhad a curtain hanging behind one of the nightstands. Behind it was one of those "sound-proof" foam boards blocking off what Ibelieve to be a door conjoining the rooms. This option of blocking off the room did not work as we could hear the folks stayingin the room connected to ours. It felt as if we did not have our own room and had to whisper so as to not disturb the guests inthat room. Finally, we decided to leave the Mercersburg Inn early due to the excess noise coming from the other room - we couldnot sleep. We wrote a note to the staff as they were no longer on the premises around 11:00 p.m. The following morning theyoffered us a complimentary stay or dinner. We will be choosing the dinner. I would recommend the Mercersburg Inn for dinnerbut would caution anyone looking to stay there to ensure your room is properly equipped. Read more
