Stopped in on the way to northern California. Saturday at 1030 AM and was busy but not packed. Very quick and friendly service. ... Food was served quickly and hot. French toast was done well as were the eggs. Bacon was the only item I thought could havebeen a little better. But it wasn't bad at all. Plenty of rear parking and located right off the freeway. Small diner with delicious food, attentive/friendly staff, and great prices. We will definitely return! My steak dinner was... cooked perfectly and came with a salad, dinner roll, onion rings (which I'm very picky about, but loved theirs!), and mashedpotatoes with gravy for just under $18. Read more
Right off the 99 HWY Very reasonable prices! New diner in town that's making a stand to stay. Great service the food is better... tasting than black bear "no offense" portions are decent size, taste is good and the service is really good. Great convo! So fari have been here twice, once for dinner and the other for breakfast. The open face sandwich needed more gravy and a little bitmore meat on it. The open face sandwich was real good that it reminded me of the restaurant that used to be in Turlock call "TheRed Steer" they had the great sandwiches and portions were big and had people coming back for more all the time! I order the steak and eggs, my wifeorder the blast, and the kids pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the chicken tenders, all the food was cook to a great taste. Thechicken tenders weren't dry like other restaurants. French fries were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle which makesthem yummy. 3rd visit. I'm so happy to have this diner in Merced. The service is super awesome and the food is really good. We brought the... kids here for the first time today. They are a.... opinionated group, so we wanted to get their feedback. The boy, 7, orderedthe sprinkle pancakes. He loved them. He is a pancake "expert" in his opinion and said they were fluffy and had a great tasteeven without the syrup. The middle girl, 8, is the most opinionated of them all. She had the chicken strip with fries andfruit. She is hard to satisfy but to our surprise she was not just satisfied, but happy. She said her chicken was juicy anddidn't have that half burned, half old grease flavor. She loved the fruit and said it was fresh and not squishy. The oldestgirl, 10, had the biscuits and gravy with bacon on the side. I couldn't get her to talk much because she ate the entire plate!She said at the end that the biscuits were fluffy and soft and the gravy tasted like my homemade gravy. ???? Now that's acompliment. She said she wished we could eat here every day. I had the BLAST on sourdough with onion rings. Perfectlycooked! Hubby had the steak and eggs. He was very satisfied. I took my daughter there since she loves to eat out at restaurants and she has high class taste buds she says. She liked the... food here French fries where on point she advised me and the ranch was very thick and creamy the real kind. She said if they hadthere own secret fry sauce she would like that too. I especially enjoyed the coffee and had the Cali eggs beni and it was great.As the pictures suggest we were fat and happy when we left. I stopped in here on my way to work and I?m very happy I did. The food tasted great! I had the Steak and Eggs with country... potatoes and sourdough toast. The portions are generous in size and I left having a very content culinary experience! Theservice here is friendly and very attentive. I learned about this place from 209 Eats of Facebook.
