100% absolutely loved my first visit here. I literally drove all over Trying to find a good soul food place, I ended up here and... regret absolutely NOTHING!!! We stopped here on our way back home to Birmingham Alabama after a fun filled weekend in Memphis on Beale Street. When we pull... up, the place was packed people sitting outside (and it was ????) we Had a 45min wait but it was worth it this place is locatedin the hood and if famous for being the place Dr.King purchased sat and ate his last soul food meal before heading to the hotelbefore his death. Literally, this has been the best part of our journey down south. I have watched the Google commercial highlighting this... restaurant for almost a year, and decided to make a trip from NYS to check it out. Plus, frequent other fine Memphis tributes.The food was worth the wait! The macaroni and cheese was unlike any other I have tasted. The gooiness of the cheese sauce bakedinto the elbows was pure perfection. Not overly seasoned, which was a plus. Allowed for the cheese to flourish. Absolutelydelicious! ???? I am not a huge catfish eater, but when down south I partake. Up north, haddock. East, flounder. Out west, codor tilapia. I must say..., this catfish was on point. 2 big fillets, lightly seasoned and fried to perfection. I couldn't eveneat the second piece. The green beans and cornbread were tasty too. I love green beans with onions sautéed within....., theywere perfectly seasoned. My son adored the cornbread, fries, and lemonade. We also purchased slices of strawberry cake and lemonmeringue pie to go. Haven't ate it yet, too full from lunch, but betting it will be amazing too.
