I?ll stray off by saying the drinks were PERFECT! The bartender knows exactly what she is doing. The atmosphere was pretty chill... and COLD (a light jacket is recommended). The waitress and host was very nice and attentive. The food was seasoned perfectly.Very fresh tasting food with just enough seasoning which surprised me ???? They say that absence is the common cure for love. Well after expereincing some of the original recipies from Chef Mac, I do... understand the phrase. He recently made his way to Central Ave after a brief hiatus to bless the city once again with freshfarmer favorites.to I wanted something different for lunch so I booked a spot on Opentable at the Farmer at Railgarten.Everyone was super welcoming as soon as I walked in around 12:15. The decor is updated and very clean. Jessica was my buddy andshe told me that the sloppy joe was a great choice because it's an original recipe that Chef Mac is known for. It was a nobrainer that I ordered that and the deep fried pimento cheese balls with the cowbow jam. Phenomenal chef that takes pride in his craft. Mac Edwards has outdone himself. He is the mad scientist of Chefs and has... created some outstanding dishes with unbelievable flavors. The pot roast was juicy and tender, Mac n cheese was made fromscratch. The cheese grits combined with a burger made our taste buds explode. Dinner at The Farmer prior to EP release party at Railgarten music venue. Impeccable service. Friendly. Husband had Shrimp &... Grits that he declared the best he has eaten in a restaurant. We started our meal with fried pimento cheese, an interesting takeon an appetizer. I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was really good but a tad salty.I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and gravy but the green beans (for my taste) were too al dente and needed a higher flavor profile.Parking can be a challenge so give yourself extra time if you have a reservation. Wow, what a breath of fresh air in Memphis. So glad this place reopened, enjoyed dinner during their soft opening this past... week. After experiencing awful service and blatant discrimination at a well known spot across the street, this place could notbe more perfect. Had reservations, appreciated that the host offered both booth and table seating - a level of courtesy notshown at many places these days. We enjoyed the vanilla shrimp with sweet grit cakes soaked in coconut milk, yummy and savory,so unexpected. And the star of the show, the Gibson donut bread pudding! Without hesitation, the best bread pudding we have everhad - so light and slightly crispy, not soggy. It?s also somehow custardy in some spots but not overwhelming. And yes, sourcedfrom the famous Gibsons Donuts - you read that right! The cocktails were so tempting, well done. Farmers Daughter was amazing,wished it were served in a larger glass haha. Love that this place has big screens with good games on, but also has booths andan open layout with a refined ambience, yet still cozy. Talon took great care of us, all staff were professional.
