Whenever I have a craving for whole fried catfish, I always order from Southwind Fish. They have a lemon pepper fried catfish... that is awesome!!! It is rightly seasoned and fried to perfection. Their sides are a tasty compliment to the fish. I usually getthe fries and okra. The food smells so good that I have to put my bag on the backseat so I won't eat it before I get home. It'sjust that good. The place is kinda tucked away besides Lowes hardware but what a find it has turned out to be. They also haveregular seasoned fish as well. In me, they have a customer for life. I ordered One filet to try it and was small as heck and 4 bucks. It had no seasoning but it was hot tho. The burger was dry and... half of my fries were stuck onto the melted cheese on the burger. I didn?t order cheese fries?wth. I walked in and the female atthe front was very cold ?.no warm welcome here. Too bad I had already paid ahead online otherwise I would?ve walked back out. First time disappointed I normally order around lunch time but this time my order was 3:45pm My whiting fish meal was fried too... hard not flaky or fresh hush puppies fried so hard they crumbled......tried calling can't get anyone on the phone next time Iwill untie the bag..... look inside & not be rushed out but I was expecting my food to be fresh as before plus this fish seemslike the kind u get from Kroger Cause I promise my normal whiting have no skin maybe that's it .....all I know I'm disappointed& don't have time to circle back Read more
I?ve read most of these reviews, and to be honest I thought people were exaggerating about the attitude of the staff. They... weren?t. The restaurant still doesn?t have dine in, and the woman working the door is seriously unpleasant and shouldn?t beallowed to interact with customers. The catfish was good, the shrimp Po boy and the chicken tenders were enjoyed by my sons. The salmon was dry the okra was harder... than I would like. Those steak cut fries were the business though. Read more
My friends and I came in and we instantly felt like we were at moms or our aunts house. We received a warm welcome when we... entered and the smell of good ole? country frying/cooking consumed us. We all ordered different meals, and they were alldelicious. The hospitality was truly southern and this is not a one time visit type of place. Picture below are the tenders &fries, hot wings, with a side blackened catfish. I'm a trained Chef with a degree in Culinary arts. My first time trying this place. Since I was @ Lowes I decided to give them... a try. Tons of regrets! The fish was not seasoned, the greenbeans we're from a can (cutting cost)! I've NEVER ordered fishwhere no complementary hush puppies were served on the side (cutting cost). The fish is overpriced for what you get! Thecustomer service or lack there of was horrible! It felt like "how dare you spend $15.91 on 3 pieces of catfish, coleslaw,beans & a single slice of white bread & demand a greeting! " Black own business could progress further if they showed someappreciation & gratitude towards their customers! Thank God they're not the only fish business in town! I will NOT be comingback!
