This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had five separate orders. Gwen, the cashier, took all of my orders with... a smile and a beautiful disposition!!!! She really did. I felt great leaving this restaurant. I say this because this restaurantwas PACKED with people eating in, people in line to pick up orders and people placing orders. She HANDLED that with a smile. Iloved my food. My breast was over cooked BUT edible. My co-workers stated her meat loaf was "GOOD". Another coworker statedthere was sugar in her black eyed peas. ???????????? I don't understand that because not everyone eats sugar. Nor do they wantit in their food. My ONLY complaint is the peaches in the peach cobbler were cut into squares. (It wasn't too sugary and couldhave used a little more butter). They looked like frozen carrots in a bag. It is called PEACH cobbler. So cutting those peacheslike that took away the flavor of the cobbler. Not good (I know what I'm talking about because My mama could COOK)!!!!! Iwon't purchase it again. My personal taste. Overall, it was a positive experience. The "peach cobbler". Too much dough and aCOMPLETELY bad experience looking at square peaches. Read more

I placed a order for me and my husband, he got the chopped steak dinner, and I got the smothered pork chops dinner. I called in... after placing my order to let them know I wanted the food cooked well, the woman told me they cook their food medium well so themeat will be pink, but stated she will do cooked well this time for me. I received the food and it was undercooked, thier wasgravy inside the bag as if the food was not handled properly. I stopped going to the restaurant because of previous issues withmy food, and said let me give Southern Hands another try. I was very disappointed with the service I received as well as theuncooked food. This place was one of my favorites when they first opened, just seems to me after the business took off theworkers got lazy and rude. I feel like you should keep up the good work no matter how the company is doing to keep a good namefor yourself. This is by far my last time ever getting food from them. I would advise any visitors coming to Memphis TN, to dinein and enjoy some soul food to save you self a trip as well as locals. They we're good previous years ago. But NOW it's sad tosay the food is horrible. I don't normally do the review thing. But I made it my business to do so this time, just to informothers so they don't make the same mistake I did. This is my third time at this restaurant. They have very tasty food. It will make you think of a home cooked meal. I must say... this time around, I was more impressed with my server than anything. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs.Due to this fact, we will return. Read more

This food taste like my grandmother was in the back making plates. Generous portions of some of the most delicious tasting home... cooked food I have had in some time. I got gravy smothered pork chops with cabbage and black eyed peas. I really wanted greensbut they were sold out. No dine in at the time and the counter is a little disorganized so you will wait but the food is worthit. Read more

I love southern food being from the "dirty south" (Itta Bena). But this place really made me muddy south. I was just leaving... service and had a very full week(end) which cause me not to have Sunday super ready. So I search for a place close to me andone that I had frequent before pandemic. I was so disappointed that I WANT be visiting again unless dining in. I order for afamily of 4-6 people. I waited outside for the food to be prepared. When I was contacted via phone call then the same personused my number to text a friend (crossed up numbers) smh. When I entered to pay/get my order. I recited my order as sheverified. Asked is everything there. When I get home, whe preparing plates I noticed things missing (pork chops, greens, andpie) ???? hungry called them and was told to bring food back. WHAAATTT! Man wasn't that disappointing but not worth going back.A lose for me. The food was delightful ???? but PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER B4 U LEAVE. Cost me $15 Read more

Never in my time living in The State of Tennessee, since 1998, have I ever been to this location. I do believe that my wife and... I ate at a different location, but was many years ago. And I thought it was in the Raleigh neighborhood of Memphis. Meat loafwas on point. My wife has said everything we ordered was good, I don't eat Red Velvet Cake. Since she's been more sickly in herentire life. The only problem with the cake it had to much frosting. If it had been a Chocolate Cake, yellow inside. I'd boughttwo. Hoping to see A Southern Hands plate in front of me soon. Read more

I wanted to try local. The cashier wasn't friendly. I didn't exactly get baked chicken. I was given a fried breast covered with... to much garlic salt and brown gravy. The yams were scorched but the corn bread was awesome. Read more
