This place is very friendly towards regulars, but not very good about taking care of new customers. I received the worst service... I have had in many years, flat beer, and cold food. About a week ago, my girlfriend and I went to this bar/restaurant to listento some live music, drink, and have dinner. We grabbed a table in the middle of the seating area and waited to be served. Thewait staff ignored us and seemed to do whatever they could to avoid eye contact. After sitting there for over 40 minutes, wegot up and ran into a server on our way to the bar. She apologized and explained that she was trying to leave because her shiftended a while ago. She seemed to feel bad for us and got us drinks. We waited over 20 minutes for a pair of flat beers from thetap. I looked around and noticed most people had gotten bottles of beer. Probably because the beer from the tap there wasflat. The server apologized again for the poor service. Apparently, the woman who was supposed to be serving us had sometragedy in the family and couldn?t handle any more tables. I noticed plenty of people arrived after us who were being servedjust fine. She just wouldn?t serve us. The server who got our drinks decided to stay later to help her friend out and asked forour order. We ordered an appetizer, BBQ nachos. The nachos came a half an hour later. They were room temperature around theedges, and it was lukewarm at the center. They probably sat on a table somewhere for the last 20-25 minutes. Not the kitchen?sfault. The nachos would probably have been good fresh. We ordered another round of beers (This time bottles) and ended upwaiting over 20 minutes for the server to grab a pair of bottles to bring back to us. I considered asking to have the nachosreheated, but I?d rather not have gotten back nachos with spit. I considered ordering more food, but why pay for more cold food.So, we closed out and left. Lunch specials were pretty tasty. I had fried pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans, and although the latter were most... likely canned beans, someone in the kitchen knew how to kick them up. Hubby also had fried pork chop with mashed potatoes butopted for greens (likely frozen turnip greens) and black-eyed peas. I tried the Ghost River Gold which was good, especially as Iprefer much darker beers. Festive, lots of regulars, friendly, easy parking. Reasonable prices. We'll be back to check out thelive music. This was a great find , live music funky band playing classic tunes , also this is a nice upper scale crowd , not a young spot .... The service was great and fast and as I said the place has a family atmosphere , in fact someone else paid for my Food just as aGood gesture for it being my first time there , that has never happened to me ever in my life . I really appreciate the stafffor making everything possible . So there is a $5 cover for the musicians and the men's bathroom was surprisingly very clean .They have two or three pool tables but show up early Because they have atleast 6 games was ahead I didn't wait to play , theyhave flat screens hanging on every wall playing the games , the parking lot is big so no problem there - I got some videos I'lltry to post them .
