Really, really disappointed! I haven’t had paella in years. I figured if a nice restaurant served it three ways it must be... good, right? Nope! It was bland and dry and the chorizo tasted like it was spoiled. My boyfriend got the fish special and it wasalso bland and the spinach was cold, the Brussels sprouts were raw, and they put some weird crunchy noodle garnish on top thatwas flavorless and lent nothing to the dish. The ravoiolo was one big ravioli with hardly any filling and the bread and butterhad no flavor either. I can’t say anything nice about this place. Read more

Incredible dining experience at Maximos on Broad - I had the Artisan Salad with pine nut encrusted goat cheese (yum!) over... greens with apple slices, mandarin oranges & sweet cherry tomatoes in a citrus vinaigrette and I added the most delicious salmon- what a treat! We also had the special a filet over greens with pomegranate, raspberries, green beans and spinach with a lightvinaigrette. To wrap up dinner we had the rich chocolate crème brûlée (to die for!) with raspberries on top and home made icecream (super delicious) and creamy. The staff were friendly and atmosphere was nice. I can highly recommend this fantasticrestaurant. Read more

My husband and I will never go back to Maximos. I ordered a well done filet, which is how I always eat my steaks. The filet was... riddled with fat. In fact, I couldn't find one bite that didn't have large strands of fat in it. However, I wasn't going to sendit back because I filled up on the side dishes. When the waitress asked why I didn't eat the steak, I told her that it was quitefatty, but not to worry about it. She took my plate back to the kitchen, and a few minutes later the owner/manager came out. Shesaid that the steak wasn't edible because I ordered it well done. I explained to her that I eat my filets well done all thetime, and that the problem was not the way it was cooked, but that it was a bad cut of meat that was full of fat. She wasextremely rude and proceeded to argue with me!!! I've never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I've toldeveryone I know not to go to Maximos. There's no excuse for that kind of rudeness. On another note, the waitress was delightful. Read more

It’s was a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing cocktails, wine, food, and service. For an... appetizer, we enjoyed the Risotto Croquettes. And for dinner, I had the Stuffed Chicken, and my husband had the Fish Special -Pescado Maximo. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended Maximo's on Broad. Read more

I wanted to give the place more than 4 stars, but less than 5 stars - that’s no possible in the current setting, so gave it a... 5 star! I have had the privilege to dine in a number of restaurants in Memphis but let me take this opportunity to say thatMaximo's on Broad is a diner's delight. From the outside, the place might look like any other diner joint, but as soon as youenter the premises, you are embraced with an overwhelming gust of coziness. The quaint and dim lighting sets up the stage for aperfect and quiet date night and omg did I mention the coziness? Our hostess Lori instantly developed a connection with us assoon as we walked in by referring by our first names instead of a sir/mam (other restaurants take note!!!). Let me tell you theyhave an amazing collection of cocktails and for the uninspired, they also have local brews on draft. For our appetizer, weordered the brandied shrimp from the tapas menu. The amazing texture of the dish took us by surprise with its sharp yetdelicious sweet notes. For our main entree, we ordered the seafood paella and the chef's special Pescado Maximo (made withmarket-fresh fish of the day). The seafood paella, made with an assortment of mussels, shrimp, and scallops, is just thewholesome dish. The seafood stuff were fresh and plenty. The Pescada, on the other hand, topped with a bold lobster reductionand amazingly crispy yet soft veggies, flirts with your taste buds like an ardent lover who entices you in her stunning charms. The fish quality was absolutely top. In conclusion, I would like to reinstate that with its cozy charms and its bold flavors, this place just stands out like a proud monument on Broad Avenue. Read more

We were looking for a different place to eat, and so glad we ventured out a bit. Quiet and quaint dining experience. A bit dim... with regards to lighting, only an issue because my husband and I need readers. The food and drinks were fabulous! Tapas menu islovely. We will be back again! Read more

The stuffed, with cheese and spinach, chicken has a beautiful presentation. The taste matches it. Not over or under cooked. ... The side of green beans were cooked perfectly as well. The duck was very nice as well, however on the fatty side. However itwas still delicious along with the roasted potatoes. Not sure why the images are sideways. Maximo's is a hidden date night jemon broad you must check out. Read more
