My first time to the new location (or one of the new locations), and it was really nice inside. It looks similar to the... Germantown one and is a very bright and inviting decor. The food is every bit as good as you'd expect from Las Tortugas DeliMexican, and if you haven't tried it before you really need to. This is a whole other level of Mexican food. Very good food, but not sure it?s a do over for us. Tasty, but wow, the prices are in line with what you get. $88 for a family... of six, three kids had cheese quesadillas, no drinks. The guacamole was very different, creamy, with a spice. Very nicetouch. The tortilla chips are cut small and made from flour tortillas. 4 stars on quality and flavor, 1 star deduction for thepricing. Their Elote is very yummy. Their Alaskan crab sandwich is even greater. Not a fan of their version of tacos I like my tortillas... with a little grill time but everything is very well flavored. Very clean environment and friendly staff. It's a favorite whenI'm in town. Read more
We had a great visit to Las Tortugas and appreciated the effort and time Pepe put into explain the menu and what his restaurant... was all about. Pepe for President!! super nice and friendly guy. The food was fresh tasting and nicely prepared. Sure a littleon the pricey side, but like Pepe said "you are going to say two things..oh it cost to much and then later you will drop moneyoff in the tip jar saying oh this was so cheap for what we got and here is a tip!" We got the street corn and 100% recommendthat. Also got some steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Not really sure we ordered off the menu. He just said let me know what youlike and I will make you something you will love. Also get the Mango and Lemon drinks. I highly recommend those as well! wetopped it all off with the fried cheese and unfortunately we were not a fan of it. great presentation and it had some nicespices on it but not a fan of the hard crisp texture. $10 was also a bit on the high side and I would say it was more of acheese crisp then fried soft cheese we were exception. but maybe more of an expectation then anything at all. Tried multiple dishes and all were good, especially liked the flautas. More authentic than most places I?ve had in the Memphis... area. A little more expensive than you would expect but don?t let that keep you away, you?re getting better Mexican food thanmost other local places. Read more
I was expecting Las Tortugas to be a fairly priced Mexican style deli, but instead it was an extremely expensive diner! Spending... $20 on a Mexican sandwich and a small handful of chips is ridiculous. The food tasted good but it was definitely not worth theprice tag. The service was also rather disappointing. They call out your order number over a speaker that is not clear enoughfor you to tell which number it is and then they become impatient when you don't realize that it was your number. I would not gohere unless I was dead set on getting authentic Mexican food. Read more
