My wife and I ordered takeout. This place's food quality and portion size seem to be going down hill. The jerk chicken was dry... af and tasted like it was made last week and served today. The portion for the salt and pepper shrimp diminished from when wehave ordered it in the past. At about $10 for 7 pieces of shrimp, It's not worth it. Not the Benton the 20% gratuityautomatically added to bill and they know they provide bad service. Will not be returning. Read more

My son and I decided to have our weekly meet up here today and what an awesome choice it was! Being pescatarian and plant based... respectively we enjoy going out on most Wednesdays and trying restaurants. There were 3 choices for vegans/vegetariansexcluding sides, at E&O. My son had the potato/chickpea curry with a side of greens and rice. It sounded tempting but I wentfor the black bean tacos served with rice and a tomato & cucumber salad. I have lots of taco experience under my belt beforegoing plant based from Memphis to 5 years in San Antonio. This was THE best tacos I have EVER had. I've had some seriouslydelicious street tacos but man, this was an altogether different and glorious experience. I cleared my plate, which is odd forme. We also ordered adult beverages. I took my Jamaican Lemonade to go because I was driving. She made it without ice so I amable to have it now at 6:30 pm as I write this. Again, a great experience with properly made drinks. I do look forward to theJamican Punch but they were out today. Our meals were $10.90 each. A reasonable price for a big meal these days. Read more

My husband was celebrating his 40th birthday and Evelyn & Olive was very accommodating to our large party. The food and drinks... were delicious!! I highly recommend the beef patty as an appetizer. I felt like I was back in the islands once I took abite. Darrin is an incredible host. He took the time to thoroughly explain my options for making a reservation for a largeparty. He took care of us the day of our reservation and everyone loved him. Read more

Located on Madison Avenue headed towards downtown Memphis i?ve heard a lot about Evelyn and Olive and decided to give it a try.... This is a Jamaican restaurant which is my first time eating Caribbean food so definitely kept an open minded of the menu. Uponarriving I walked in it?s just a simple restaurant nothing fancy about it at all. We waited for a good 5 to 7 minutes to beseated due to there was only one hostess which was the bartender and the server. She was really nice overall. So we decided toorder a little bit of everything I received the Caribbean fried chicken which was a 30 minute wait because it was cooked toorder with a side of cabbage and a cucumber and tomato salad. My sister got the jerk chicken with the rice and peas and thecabbage. We both split a beef patty as an appetizer. Let?s start off with the appetizer the beef patty it was pretty good Inever tasted anything like that I can?t tell you what it taste like but it was a very interesting taste I wish they had sometype of dipping sauce because it became a tad bit dry but overall it was pretty tasty. The Caribbean chicken like I stayed thereearlier I waited 30 minutes because it was cooked to order and I didn?t get anything Caribbean about it it was just friedchicken with light seasoning and it is not the best fried chicken that I?ve ever had. So that was definitely a disappointmentthe cabbage was amazing it gave me a vegetable stew type of vibe. it taste so good it has green beans ,Corn and peppers . it wasamazing!! taste out of this world. The cucumber and tomato salad it was OK they could have used a tad more of Italian dressingin it but you got what you ask for tomatoes and cucumbers. The other meal we receive was the jerk chicken which was super drythey did not have any sauce on it so it taste OK but it taste like they over cooked it for sure the rice and peas were verytasty they were warm wish they were hot but you can?t expect hot I guess at this restaurant. Overall experience wa Read more

I was very annoyed that I had to wait another 40 minutes post my pickup time, but I was willing to show grace because many small... restaurants are understaffed. But my food wasn't worth the wait, unfortunately. I heard good things about the oxtails, but Iguess I went on the wrong day. They tasted like they had been reheated several times or cooked too long. The fried greentomatoes were not good. The wings were just okay. I might try again in the late future, but right now it's a no for me. Read more

Ordered the Jamaican Run Punch and Tun Up Pasta, both were thumbs down!! The pasta is oily and the drink is flavored water. I... only finished it because of their strict no refund no exchange policy.Disgusting. Will not return. Read more

So my first time trying Caribbean food and I must say that I am impressed. I?ve heard about E&O for a while now and finally had... the chance to try it. The appetizers was a Jamaican meat pie, very similar to an empanada with a different shape. The crust, wasperfect, flaky and brown as perfect as could be. The flavor inside of the meat pie was definitely explosive. I was shocked itwas amazing. Next up.. the salmon cakes. I did enjoy them they remind me of Down south Salmon croquettes but they were fried. Onthe menu for some reason they didn?t indicate that they were friend salmon cakes BUT nevertheless they were delicious and I wasdefinitely happy about my decision. The grits were creamy and delicious. Last up is the main course what they are known for isthe oxtails!!! The oxtails were so tender, the gravy was mouthwatering and the side items were just beautiful. They paired themperfectly with the plethora of seasonings and I couldn?t be anymore happy. I can?t wait to visit again Read more
