Reviews for Bari Ristorante e Enoteca in Memphis, TN
The food was good, service was attentive and prompt. The atmosphere is... strange. I don't know if it was the low pile... industrial carpet, walking through the crowded bar to get to the dining room, or the cheap, plain, and uncomfortable chairs thatdid it for me or a combination of it all, but I know what this building was like before this place moved into it, and Isincerely liked the old location better AND they could have made some simple choices to make the atmosphere match the quality ofthe food and service. I went here for my birthday and I guess I may have expected too much after experiencing the old location, but the dining room seems a bit ramshackle. The wine selection can't be beat, and the seafood is excellent, but I'm just not asimpressed with the dining room as I hoped I would be. Read more
One of the absolute best restaurants in Memphis. Exquisite Italian wine selections. The food is absolutely amazing. Jason Severs... is a gifted chef. Read more
Restaurant has policy to charge $25/person for no show reservations. The menu requires a master?s degree in Italian to order.... Cheese and meat appetizer was a la carte with $7-8 per choice. Skimpy on bread (and unsure what kind of bread it was). Menu wassheets of paper poorly organized. No Chianti in an Italian restaurant and no tiramisu. Food was good but limited and overlypriced. Highly recommend reservations. We were lucky and got a seat at the bar. Our bartender was also our server. He was very patient... as he helped us select cheese to go with our appetizer. We had the Zucchini fritters with goat cheese. For our entree I'veordered pasta carbonara and my spouse ordered roasted tomato orzo with crab meat. We had the strawberry gelato for dessert.Highly recommend this restaurant. Please note that these are small plate servings and everything is individual. This is a greatplace for a birthday, anniversary or any other kind of special evening. Read more
The food was fantastic. Definitely try the carbonara. The bar was crowded by 6:00 PM. It gets very noisy in the bar. So much... so that communicating with the bartender becomes difficult. They could use some acoustic improvements. Otherwise, a niceatmosphere with really good food. No TVs in the bar. Read more
Good for the price. Sadly the pasta was not al dente but the sauce and rest of the meal was quite good.
Nice atmosphere, modern yet traditional. The menu was reasonably priced and I tried the soup of the day with a cabonara. The... taste of the dishes has an influence of french and was well prepared. With that said, it may not be of your liking if you areexpecting more Americanized food.I like it generally and will visit again if I am in the area. Read more
Quaint little spot. Great for date night or a meetup of friends. The mussels are phenomenal and the meatballs are humongous!
