Reviews for Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant in Memphis, TN
What a gem of a restaurant! Hands down, one of the best places I've eaten at in Memphis. We ordered Chicken stew, Chicken Tibes... and Lamb Tibes which were served family style. Each and every dish including the veggie side dishes was lip-smackinglydelicious! They all paired really well with the soft injera and rice. Special mention of their green beans and carrots dishwhich is ridiculously tasty. The highlight for me, though, was their hospitality. The owner and the nice lady serving us werekind and friendly. We unknowingly stayed there for hours after dinner talking and didn't realize we had been there past theirclosing time until much later but were not at all rushed. Overall, excellent food, fantastic service and a very cosy and homelyambience sums up this amazing restaurant. A must try! Read more

Best Ethiopian food we had in the US!! We stopped there during our roadtrip through TN and weren't expecting much because it was... at the peak of Covid and most businesses were closed. Owner was incredibly nice and welcoming! we ended up staying there forhours talking and sharing stories. The food was AMAZING - we got 2 veggie combos in one plate (for 3 people) and couldn't stopeating because it was so good. Would give 10 stars if I could. Go support them and enjoy these amazing flavors ? Read more
Some of the best Ethiopian food I?ve had so far, and the first place that I tried in Memphis. I got the Abyssinia Combo that... comes with a beef and chicken dish plus 2 sides. If you aren?t familiar with the cuisine this is a great place to start. I gotthe cabbage, yellow peas, and spicy red lentils. In my opinion the stars of Ethiopian food are the vegetables and Injera.Everything was fresh and so delicious! Also, make sure you call and order because the only prices are much higher than inperson. The meat portions were enough for 2 meals. The service was great! I highly recommend! Read more
