Hemingway?s Tavern is my favorite spot in Melbourne. Since moving here I?ve been trying to find a place with great consistent... food and I think I?ve found it! We went here for a birthday lunch. For the birthday person you get the option of getting a freeslice of key lime pie or a free key lime pie shot. We ordered a couple different sandwiches which were all amazing paired withtheir truffle Parmesan fries (soo good). I?d definitely recommend, great bang for buck! Read more

I have always enjoyed Hemingways in the past. I still think they have one of the best Cuban sandwiches in the area. Went and had... brunch today and thought it was just okay. Our avocado BLT seemed a bit light on avocado (it seemed to be missing on half thesandwich). The shrimp and grits were okay, but I found the gravy to be a bit gelatinous. So it was either not warm enough orimproperly mixed. My wife had lobster eggs Benedict and again, individual components were fine but the flavors didn't marrywell. Day trip to Melbourne and we were starving, we decided to come to Hemingway's Tavern. The decor of this place is spectacular, my... husband is from the Cuban town where Hemingway lived and he was very amazed at all the attention to the details. The food wasspectacular, I ordered a carafe of the Mimosa which is $18 . I had the chicken and waffles sliders and my husband had the pulledpork eggs Benedict. WOW everything tasted ???? perfection. The waffles had a walnut crunch to them and the chicken was perfectlycooked. My husband's pulled pork was amazing it literally would melt in your mouth. Give this place a try when you are in thearea. This was very good! Well deserved it?s rating I?d say. I got a mojito which was good (not the best I?ve ever had, but good). We... started off with an order of the empanadas and were very happy with them. I got the snapper Hemingway, two of my friends got theskirt steak, and one got the snapper carbonara. A true 5?? experience! We ordered the conch fritters for an appetizer (the sauce was amazing), my wife ordered the Cuban... sandwich and the Caesar wedge salad, I ordered the grouper tacos, my daughter ordered the Mac and cheese and a bowl of fruit,and we had the pineapple upside down cake for dessert. The food got better with every single bite. The customer service wasgreat, and it was a perfect evening for outside dining. I wish we lived closer so that we could eat here more often. Delicious! Relaxing vibes. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. It was chilly and they had heaters to keep their guests... warm by every table. Conch fritters were tasty. I wasn?t a huge fan of the conch chowder but it?s definitely edible. The entreeswere both delicious. Kiddos meals the Mac n cheese and chicken tenders with fries and fresh fruit were demolished. I?m vegan and was visiting Florida. Tried the vegan chickpea patty tacos with red pepper aioli and radish, with a side of beans... and rice. LOVED IT!! The portion was generous and the taste was out of this world!! PROS: - Decadent and vegan option with manylayers of taste CONS: - There was only one main vegan option. Would love to see more options on the menu because you haveexcellent chefs who can execute it, as was evident from the vegan tacos - The hostess said she would recommend the steak andsnapper while she was taking me to seat me. When asked about the vegan option she just said ?talk to your server?. I wouldrecommend to not do that, as being vegan I do not see animals as food objects, and that question put me in a not-so-pleasantmood. Please do not assume that everyone who walks in eats animals.
