What a great place to eat. Very busy when we were there but still the service was great and we didn't have to wait too long for... our food. Great place to stop & eat in the heart of downtown Medicine Hat! It was a lovely day so we sat on the patio which is set off the... street a bit & filled with plants & flowers. Second time here and it was extremely satisfying. I had the enchiladas with blackened chicken. The tomatillo and mole sauce were... delicious, the chicken moist and blackened/seasoned very nicely. The patio is super well done and comfy. Read more

8 of us relatives met here for dinner for the 1st time in 6 years. Local still has the same great atmosphere, food & service. We... enjoyed several Pints of Lager & glasses of white wine. Entrees included burgers, salads, Fish Taco Plate, BBQ Rice Bowl,Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Waitress Amanda was terrific, very attentive. We will return should the opportunity present itself. First was great. Within 20 minutes we had our drinks and appetizer. Then it went down hill fast. No sign of waitress for 30... minutes so waiting to order. Then waited over an hour for the food. Stopped in at the Local on our way home from a road trip based off good reviews, the environment was great, they have a... beautiful patio. But the service was poor. There were long wait times between seeing a waitress, I received the wrong salad andcouldn?t even tell my waitress because we didn?t see her until half on hour after it was dropped off, and my husband?s beer camewell after he was finished his meal! Great stop for some good grub. We had the sliders, eggs Benny and fish tacos. Portions were a good size; the eggs were cooked to... perfection, the potatoes were also great and well seasoned. The coffee was the only disappointment. Worth the stop. Read more
