Reviews for Amoo's Restaurant in McLean, VA
Best Iranian cuisine I tried. Small and elegant venue. Reserve your table ahead. Staff seem to be on the rush though. Our... favorite is the Bakhtiari which is a flattened beef tenderloin wrapped in ground beef & lamb and served with basmati rice. Ihave never seen it served in any Iranian restaurant before. Their Zereshk Polo has saffron glazed barberries which is a musttry. Chicken is so tender too. We ordered a tea pot that works well after the meal. Saffron ice cream has a unique taste andtexture. Our Ashe soup was missed due to the rush. We will come back again for sure. Read more
We are Persian food lover and it was first time trying this restaurant. It has nice ambiance and delicious food. We waited a... little longer than usual to get our orders but could understand, it was weekend and the place was packed. Read more
Very good food and friendly service. This small restaurant deserves a visit and a visit and again and again and again. We had... barg and koobideh, lamb, and two stews, one with tahdig. Kabobs and stews are both great. Chinese cuisine has similar dish too,you let the sauce soak the crispy rice. The Mahicheh was cooked perfectly well. Meat separates from the bone upon touch, juiceand flavorful. Dished are of larger portions. Even the rice are tasty. Finish the meal with some saffron ice cream. Read more

I know I lack the melatonin but trust me I know my food. This spot has the BEST kobeda kebabs out of all the places in the DMV.... The wait staff was also very kind and gracious. Would definitely recommend!! Read more
Some of the absolute best Persian food I?ve had; hands down, it?s off the Chart! Sebastian, the Executive Chef is a wizard... behind the fabulous culinary creations coming out of the kitchen. His genuine hospitality as well as his server?s makes Aboo?s amust for anyone seeking a 4 Star Restaurant; it?s a 5! The beets are extraordinarily delicious; what a difference the slowroasting makes! Taste it for yourself! I?ll come back here to enjoy the wonderful friendly atmosphere and service as well as theamazing delicious culinary dishes! Read more
As a fan of Shamshiry and Persian food in general, I decided I needed to try Amoo?s given it?s popularity. And it did not... disappoint. Stepping into the place, it was easy to tell this was a Persian establishment from all the decor. It?s a trueexperience. We started with the hummus and the Shirazi Salad, both I?d recommend. I?d definitely want to try some of theeggplant dishes next time. These were served wifh some warm pita and an excellent green sauce. I could have that sauce withanything. As for the main meals, we got the koobideh with the Shirin Polo rice and the Fesenjan stew. I highly recommend goingwith either of these dishes. You should definitely get a kabob and stew to really experience both types of Persian cuisine. Wefinished up dinner with some saffron ice cream, which had a truly beautiful color and taste. You need to get this homemadePersian delicacy. Although I really like Shamshiry, I think I prefer here more so, especially give the greater number ofoptions. Shamshiry has more of a scene, but this has more of a home feeling. And the staff here is incredibly friendly, which isalways great to see. Read more
They have some authentic Persian cuisine and a variety of options even for non-Iranian guests. The environment and atmosphere... look quite like the classic Iranian model restaurants and you'll feel comfortable dining there even if they don't have a verylarge did in the area. I highly recommend this place for the taste of authentic Persian food. Hope you also enjoy the time youspend at this restaurant Read more
