Our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is dependable and delicious. My five year old daughter has loved this place since it... opened and always asks to go on nights we eat out. We go at least a couple of times a month. The management and chef come aroundto check to be sure everyone is satisfied and it?s obvious that their heart is in their food. Great staff, really good food but get ready to walk unless you?re lucky enough to find great parking like I did. There are... parking LOTS all around the downtown area. Be patient and be ok with walking feom one of the LOTS a few blocks away. Once yourhave lunch or dinner you can walk the McKinney square. Great for exercise and to discover many awesome shops. El Major is a terrific Mexican food restaurant, less than a block off the square, in McKinney, TX. Their food is fantastic. We... ordered their guacamole for our appetizer. It was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the cheese chile relleno. It was terrific!In fact they give you two of them! Hello lunch tomorrow! As a vegetarian, usually there aren?t any beans that are vegetarian,but here, they offer vegetarian black beans, which is much appreciated. Had brunch here today for the first time and it might be my new favorite place! Chips and salsa are a make it or break it for... me at any Mexican restaurant and this place did not disappoint! I had the breakfast tacos with sausage which was delicious. Wehad a pitcher of sangria (20% off on the weekend) and the manager shared the yummy recipe with us! El Mejor if I'm not mistaken means the best translated. I would have to agree, it was one of the best I've ever had. The chips... were just like I prefer them. Light and dusted with a little salt. The salsa was fresh with just the right amount of heat. The brisket queso was so good, I want to go there right now for dinner as I'm writing this review. Lol I made a mis step andordered the chicken sandwich. It was 6 out of 10 stars. I should have ordered the fish Tacos. I bet there so good. First time for my wife and I. Very nice decor. Staff was friendly. The margaritas we ordered were not good, just bland tasting.... We had to send them back. They were nice enough to accommodate us and they made a special margarita for my wife, on the rocksthat was too strong. She prefers them frozen. I went with Dos XX with a lime. My wife ordered shrimp tacos and they were good. Iwent with beef enchiladas with a sour cream sauce. Now, my expectation was I would be getting strips of beef like fajita beef.No, I received ground beef. It was okay, but read the menu carefully and choose wisely. They have lomo saltado beef and fajitabeef enchiladas. Order those if you're going with beef. Read more
