I had baked fish tacos with guacamole and a Corona & it was really delicious. Service is good and waitstaff are nice and food is... reasonably priced. I highly recommend Carmela's if you are ever hungry for Mexican food in McKinleyville, California. Read more

Smells good, don't expect to get help any time soon. If you think I'm just being petty, they served 2 separate couples who came... in after me chips, salsa and beer plus rang up another 2 couples before even considering me, waiting to put in a TO GO order onmy break. I needed like 1 minute to put in my order because I knew what I wanted exactly, I'd tried to phone it in but the lineis just permanently busy. Just wasted my break waiting, thanks bunches. Read more

Carmela's is always serving up great food. From salsa and chips starter all the way to tres leches cake for dessert, I've... enjoyed each of my trips here. I like their soft shell tacos with carne asada. You can get 4 tacos for 11.95. They also have agigantic burrito for 19.95 that will keep you full with leftovers. Take out can have a bit of a wait, so dine in is a greatoption if you have the time. I will continue coming here. Read more

The mole burrito was phenomenal, one of the better mole sauces I've had. The burrito was massive and very reasonably priced.

Having lived in the Central Valley all my life, I feel like I've been pretty spoiled by great Mexican food. Since moving to... Humboldt County, we've been struggling to find one that approached the same quality of what we're used to--but I think Carmela'smight be The One. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. My friend swore up and down that their mole sauce wassome of the best he's had. It also just had a really chill vibe. Basically, we'll probably be making return trips! Read more

Went here one day after driving up to Trees of Mystery wanting to find some good, quick Mexican food in McKinleyville. The food... service was quick but it was not good. I got a California Burrito with pork and was disappointed. The meat was moist butover-salted and the rest of the burrito had almost no flavor to it. Ordered a Modelo to try to make it more palatable butcouldn't finish the burrito with the IPA they served me instead of the Modelo I asked for. 3/5 star because of the poor foodquality. The restaurant was clean enough, there was enough parking & a restroom for customers. Read more

The hotel we stayed at recommended the restaurant. It was very busy, mostly with carry out orders. The serves was decent and... food was average. Since there was no chicken dishes on the menu besides chicken fajitas, my wife created her own dish (seebelow). Read more
