We went into the restaurant for the Friday fish fry buffet. The grounds, lobby, and dining room presented clean and well... maintained. We were seated immediately and we were promptly offered beverages. The salad and soup bar was amply supplied and thesoup was fantastic. Although we did not have a server per se, there was no shortage of attention. A member of the kitchen staffcame out to check on us and offered the group a plate of walleye fingers, an item not on the menu. Wonderful. A short whilelater the manager came by to insure we were happy and we enjoyed a pleasant conversation. To round out the evening, the resortmanager stopped by for a quick visit. This place is beautiful. I go with my in laws each year for a week and it?s great. It has a small beach, a boat landing, and you... can rent a boat for the week and pick it up right there. The restaurant is good and we use the indoor pool and hot tub a lotwhen we are there. There?s a park too, it?s for older kids. Our 1 year old couldn?t take a ton of advantage of it. Read more

We attended a family wedding here a few weeks ago. The service was terrible (did not receive first course of food until 8:30... p.m.) The meat was delicious, however, the potatoes were undercooked and the asparagus was overcooked. Seating was cramped andthere was not enough seating for our family. The cake was horrible (not sure if it was made on sight or brought in). I don'tknow if they were having an off day or what but I definitely would not recommend them for a wedding to anyone. Read more

We went here for my 51st birthday meal only! Had wonderful food, while sitting at the Bar. Good company, friendly bartender and... server. Learned my husband knew these folks from years ago, from different settings. Had the server take pictures of us out onthe deck, overlooking Big Sandy Lake, just as the sun was going down. Read more

I?ve been going to big sandy lodge for years with my family as an annual tradition! The lakes, nature, and quality of the cabin... were all great! Food was super yummy and the little arcade was so awesome!! Cant wait to see everyone again this year! Read more

The beds in our room, 220 were so swaybacked, it was like sleeping in a hole. We were going to stay another night, but not in... these beds. Pillows were big and hard. We could not get the door to lock when we left the room. Good ice cream in therestaurant. Read more

Had a great family vacation at Big Sandy. Was married here 8 years ago and have come back every year since. The lodge pool is... great fun. It was a bummer the hot tub was down but by the last day they had it running which was great. The servers are so niceand so was Anya at the front desk. The place was rented was clean and look freshly painted. Love that you can rent a boat rightthere and there?s a bar there as well. Thanks Big Sandy. We?ll see you next year. Read more

The review is on the food and beverage side of the Big Sandy Resort business from our visit on Friday July 1st at 4:30pm. The... restaurant was not busy, with one table of people inside, and a table of 4 outside. First of all the servers were on point whenthey were around. We did have to wait a considerable amount of time for our beverages because our server was not able to bringalcohol to the table and had to rely on others. The delay was almost a 1/2 hour. Then when the food start coming out it wasslow, cold, and not served at the same time. Two of the pasta entrees at $18 were inedible as they were way over salted. Thiswas brought up to our server with no action taken other than an apology. The all you can eat fish & shrimp was delicious, butyou in no way can call it an all you can eat service when you had to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get a second portion. In the endboth of the pasta dishes should have been removed from our bill as they could not be eaten. As for the other issues there looksto be room for improvement. My rating is a very weak 3.
