Disappointing lunch visit on Saturday, Oct. 22. For a good many years, whenever we were traveling through the area we have... always stopped to eat here and have recommended this restaurant to others. We have always really liked it before and lookedforward to having a meal here. Upon entering, no staff greeted us. Even though there were not that many customers alreadyseated and there were a good many empty tables, we still had to wait over 5 or more minutes to be seated. Short staffed? Thereseemed to be only 2 maybe 3 waitress/servers taking your food order and another server bringing your food to your table. Perhaps, there?s been a change in cooks & maybe pricing??? Yesterday, my husband had meatloaf, mashed potatoes & green beansplus a cold roll. I ordered a bowl of chili (no crackers offered) served with a grilled cheese sandwich. We both had iced teaand coconut cream pie. By the time I left a $9 tip for our waitress, $52.81 was spent for a disappointing lunch. (Yes, I lefta tip because it was not the fault if our waitress that the food was so disappointing.) That is certainly not what we normallyspend for lunch at a small town family style restaurant like this. My husband?s food was not served hot or even particularlywarm. Mashed potatoes seemed to be instant and green beans seemed to be out of a can. I could not eat more than half of mysmall bowl of chili. Very spicy and thick more like chili con carne from a can. The grilled cheese tasted okay but cheese wasnot heated until melted or gooey. The pie dessert portion was huge, however I took a few bites of my coconut cream pie (servedin a to go container) and I didn?t particularly like the taste of it. My husband finished it. We took the second piece with usfor my husband to eat later since it cost nearly $6. Sadly, I?m not sure we will ever bother to return here again. Read more

Expensive. I ordered the chicken n dumplings and it came in a very small bowl like you'd get a little side in. Two sides with... equally tiny dishes. $13.99. Not at all worth it. My bf had the country steak sandwich with fries. That was very good! Nice sizesandwich with fries for $8.99. That's more like it. Read more

Arrived one hour before they closed at 3:00, was told it was ok to dine in, sat there for 1/2 hour no service what so ever, saw... others who came in after us and were taken care of, overheard customers being told certain food was no longer available, hadenough, got up and left. Read more

Staff here is overly friendly. Inside dining is currently suspended due to covid pandemic but outside eating is available and... lots of to go orders also. The biscuits are on point here, certainly recommend this place for a nice late morning breakfast. Read more
