My husband and I have frequented Steamers on date nights and have never been disappointed. We took our family, 3 kids and us two... adults, to celebrate one of our birthdays. We were treated with respect and great service, it was fast and pleasant. Our foodwas delicious! The kids devoured their Caesar salads and we all favored the scallop appetizer. Hubby?s steak was cookedperfectly and my halibut was fresh. Dessert sealed the meal and we all got in and out, within an hour and a half and had anwonderful evening! Read more

I really wanted to like this place. I had heard great things about it and the menu looked fantastic, but overall this place was... really disappointing. Service was so-so. Our server was friendly enough but we were parched our entire meal despite asking afew times for drink refills. Atmosphere was okay. It?s rustic, a bit outdated, and was very drafty. We were expecting somethinga little better kept up for the prices they were charging. We ordered clam chowder, lemon caper chicken, and the trout and rackof lamb plate. Chowder was fine, neither tasty or terrible. Lemon caper chicken was rather one-note in flavor but also fine. Myplate was the trout and lamb, and I have to say, the tastiest thing on the plate was the mashed potatoes. The trout wasunremarkable, and the lamb was overcooked and tough. Overall it wasn?t the worst meal in the world but it was aggressivelymediocre and overpriced for the quality. I?m really disappointed because I had such high hopes for this place. Read more

Good homestyle seafood. We ordered the rain row trout and salmon. Both come with either a soup or salad and bread. For sides you... can get the mashed potatoes or rice. We got the Manhattan clam chowder which was good but needed more clams in it. The Cesarsalad was good. It did not come with anchovies and the dressing did not drench or over power the lettuce. We both preferred themashed potatoes because how can you go wrong with mashed potatoes. They were creamy and cheesy. The rice was tasty but can beforgotten over the mashed potatoes. It was a tie for us with both the trout and salmon. Both were tasty. Read more

Don?t be fooled by the unassuming, rustic look from the street, or the liberal use of wood paneling on?everything. Despite the... humble look, the chef can cook! Try the braised pork or the steak, scallops, and shrimp! The food is expertly cooked, the staffis attentive, and the atmosphere is authentic to the mill-town roots of McCall of yesteryear. It?s easy to walk right past? Butbe sure to give it a try. Read more

The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly. A bit slow on the service. Not that busy and it took 1hour 20... minutes to get our food. For the price expect faster service. The Creme Brule had a thin crust as it should, the custard portionwas to thick like it was cooked to long. Second time same result. Read more

Nice atmosphere good food but the RAW lamb chops ruined it for me. Yes raw just as red as it came from butcher. The shrimp... cocktail, fresh bread and steamer clams were 5 star. The staff was great 4 star nevertheless, the raw lamb was a dealkiller. It was $110 for two of us with tip. For that price I expect my meat to be cook perfectly. The home made blue cheesedressing tasted like straight mayonnaise. Not the best experience I have had. Your choices are limited in McCall Idaho Read more

Overall, the restaurant is nice, but the food needs improving. I had a late dinner there, and ordered the Ribeye steak with... wild rice and veggies. For starters I went with the Manhattan Clam Chowder. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was good, well flavored, but I didn't find a single clam in it. The Ribeye steak was medium to medium-well, when I specifically asked for Medium-Rare.Their luck was that the meat is good quality, so it was quite juicy, and I ate almost all of it. And, it was well seasoned. Theserver (I don't recall her name, but I believe she is from the Philippines) did ask me how it was, and I did show her that itwas overcooked, so she apologized. Nothing more. And I don't think she let the manager know. The veggies were 90% carrots, which I really don't care for. And, they were seriously under seasoned. The wild rice would have been good if there were anyspices, salt and pepper involved. Unfortunately, adding them myself did little good. These need to be added when cooking therice. Bland food does not taste good. So, unfortunately, the food was sub-par. I will, most likely, try them again, but payingalmost $50 for a single's dinner as bland and not well executed, as I had, is not promising... Read more
