First time here. Pasta do not recommend over priced for a dish with absolutely no flavor spaghetti sauce that's way to watery,... to the shrimp and mussels with no flavor. Shrimp boil with three sauce combo mild in spice, had no flavor lacked spice. Thesauce was watery does not hold to anything on the platter. Calamari basic at best. Read more

They have plenty of items to order from individual to combos to big platters. Seafood is great! We stick with the trio platter... all the time but it was our first time having a show for ordering but it was hot and tasty! This was our first time here. We were greeted as we walked in. Restaurant was clean. The ambiance was very relaxing and great... music, 80's songs! Our waiter was very attentive. The food was delicious! We ordered Shrimp Boil, side of Cajun fries, friedrice, and PoBoy Grilled Flounder. We will definitely be back! Read more

First time here...I had the pleasure of dining here at The Surfing Crab on Nolana Ave in McAllen, this evening. I sat in a... booth in the bar area where our waitress/ bartender, Amanda, took wonderful care of us. With an incredible mix of 70s and 80smusic playing thru the bar area, I started off with an with ice cold Crawford Bock from the draft. My curiosity took me to abowl of the New England clam chowder where the broth was rich and had plenty of flavorful clams. I decided to go for theflounder po-boy sandwich, which I found superb...the bread was fresh, the flounder was incredibly moist on the inside andcrunchy on the outside. Service was great! Ray was a standout server. Just there for lunch, first time. Fried shrimp basket with fries was perfect.... Shrimp fried rice was awesome! Mexican shrimp cocktail was lacking in 2 things?. No tortilla chips ( just saltine crackers) andthe sauce needed a little something- maybe a change to their recipe? Read more

I'm so excited to see Surfing Crab here in McAllen. I recently moved to Corpus Christi and absolutely fell in love with Surfing... Crab there. Their lunch specials are awesome!!! I highly recommend people to go. My only complaint (in comparison to the Corpuslocation,) is that the sea food boil sauce is too runny. It does not stick to the potatoes, corn, or any of the food. It alsolacks flavor. I got the Surfing Crab Special in Spicy and it was difficult to distinguish the flavor. Other than that, it wasgood. The service was amazing. The location is clean and so are the facilities. Highly recommend this place. Read more
