First time customer and now a repeat! Small restaurant, clean and decorated nicely. Lionel is so friendly and welcoming. I... ordered the Lunch Special which comes with an appetizer and drink. I went with the NanJee Noodle Salad, which they were able tomake vegetarian. It was delicious, just spicy enough and the bites of cilantro took it to another level. The samosas were cookedperfectly and the spicy sauce was a wonderful addition. Can't wait to try the other items! Read more

Absolutely loved my experience going here. Really chill atmosphere and the owner is a great guy. It was my first time here and... he was so friendly with introducing me to the cuisine. All the food was delicious (fried tofu, seejet noodles (roast duck withgarlic)) and I'll definitely come back to try the other dishes. Read more

We've eaten in twice with different guests and it's been unanimous, the food is good! The owners run a relaxed place. The... chef/owner and self described dish washer seated us both times. His daughter and self described indentured servant served uscheerfully. We appreciate that the cuisine is distinctively different - it's not Chinese, Thai, South Indian, Malaysian. Sinceit's different, just experiment The tea salad is a crunchy delight. The pork curry isn't a "curry" but braised chunks in a drysauce. The 8 entrees we've tried have all been different. Read more

To the uninitiated, Burmese cuisine is a hint of various southeast Asian cuisine, while being distinct unto itself. A hodgepodge... of Indian, Thai, Malay, Indonesian & Chinese, it's simultaneously a very scarce cuisine to find as a store front in theTri-state area. Many previous restaurants have not been able to endure COVID conditions and Amayar Kitchen (family owned) hasfortunately been opened in the midst of COVID to help fill that void. NYC near none, Philadelphia now none. Their food ablessing to the Tri-state area and without hesitation is a goto for persons seeking a taste of authentic Burmese cuisine. Theowner Sato is a native and shares his family recipes of Burmese comfort food, bringing memories of family, home, and nostalgiafor anyone with Burmese heritage. I nearly cried as the authenticity brought me flashes of my childhood and enjoying food withfamily now long past. For newcomer's it's a sensation of aromatic acrobats which bring exotic textures and flavor profiles tothe taste-buds . Their offerings are technically beyond what's listed on the menu, but are usually at request of the specialsof the day. ***Make your trip here leisurely (it's not a rushed Burmese fast food meal) and you'll enjoy your meal and theexperience of what embodies that essence of Burmese food. *** Call ahead to see about the wait as food like this is hard tofind. Just a few things of what we had on our visit was as follows. SAMOSA: These are typical Burmese samosa, unlike theIndian type that have a thicker skin. The shells of these samosa are crispy and light. Filled with potato, and some veg, they're an enjoyable exterior crunch with a pillowee filling. If you have kids, they'll eat an order of these just bythemselves and leave you with none. CHICKEN SATAY: Marinated meat on a stick served with cucumber , need i say more? Yum! TEALEAF SALAD: An exotic tea leaf salad with sesame seeds, fried shallots, fried garlic, cabbage, seasonings and it's a uniqu Read more

It's the first time that I'm trying Burmese cuisine . Food was good. They serve hot green tea in the start which I felt is... refreshing specially when it is cold. We had the palatta with beef and veggie fritters as starters. Beef was a bit on the oilyside but it tasted really good. Fritters was similar to the pakoras served in Indian cuisine. We had the Seejet noodles andNanjee noodle salad. I felt the Nanjee noodle salad lacking a bit of seasoning. The Seejet noodles was good. I would definitelyrecommend this restaurant. Read more
