Came here based on hearing on social media how good it was. I haven?t had good BBQ since going vegan four years ago. This place... was incredible! I wasn?t a fan of the jackfruit, because I don?t like onions but the meatless wings with the sweet heat mangowere the best I?ve ever had! Incredible. Also got corn fritters, apple cobbler, baked beans and fries. The corn fritters were sodelicious. Everything was hot and tasty. Pulled pork is closer to chopped pork. Flavor was solid, bark plentiful but it also felt exceptionally fatty. The brisket... actually had equal amounts of fat. Sweet potato crunch was very mild compared to a place like mutts. Mac and cheese was a bitsoggy but well peppered. Cornbread was slap your granny good. Today I met Tha Lord?s personal Pit Master. James, Marquita, and crew served up a delicious taste of heaven. The brisket, pulled... pork, and chicken wings tantalized my tastebuds. I wanted to like this restaurant more because we had heard from friends it was bangin'. The service was awesome but the food was... kind of bland. My brisket was dry as a bone but the pulled pork we ordered was fresh, juicy and flavorful. The portions werevery small and the food was pricey. Authentic BBQ places tend to operate on the opposite so that was a let down. The atmospherehere felt more like a seafood/nautical restaurant with bright colors and open seating. Our first time here. It?s very clean on the inside. We came in on a Sunday at 3pm. The staff was super nice and helpful while... ordering. I ordered a 2 meat platter. The Brisket was not good. It looked and tasted old and reheated on a flat top grill. Thebeef sausage was pretty good. I also had collards, which were good but they don?t put any meat in their sides so it?s not likeI?m used to. The fried okra was ok but those are usually tough to mess up. I love trying different BBQ places and glad I triedthis one. I?m not sure I will go back as there are many other really good places around. Read more
This place was such a great surprise for the vegan community! I saw on a local page they were offering vegan ?chicken? wings... which were more like nuggets and wow they were sooo good, I had to go back and ask to make sure I got the right food it tastedso close to chicken! Wholy smoke is worth the extra few dollars for the wings or a dinner plate for an option for lunch. The owner is normally... walking around checking on your experience and apologizes if the food takes more time than you think. Get the lunch special ifyou need a cost effective and filling option!!
