I'm not sure why they even bother with this second, suburban, strip-mall location when it in no way meets the standard of the... original downtown. The cavernous, industrial decor is the opposite of the cozy, intimate feel I want in an Italian restaurant. The salads were filled with lettuce that was VERY past fresh [rotten], the dressing tasted like that sugary Kraft Italian offthe shelf, the silverware was smudged, and the water tasted off. It was just one thing after another, building to an unpalatableentree, and, ultimately, a thoroughly unsatisfying feeling of having to then pay the bill for food we didn't eat/enjoy. Thereis zero ambiance, no view, and - not surprisingly - no customers. We were there on a weekend night and were the only people inthe place the entire time. The server was very sweet and seemed to do all she could (great wine suggestion), but good serviceisn't enough to make up for mediocre food. We will not be back. Note to Luna Rosa Downtown: This location is a liability toyour reputation. Read more

My wife and I tried to go to dinner here but evidently you have to know someone who works at or owns the restaurant to get... served food even when you?re their only customer. We were seated promptly which made sense because the restaurant only had oneother party of 4 inside and another party of two outside when we arrived. Once we were seated, we were given menus and watersand then ignored completely. After twenty minutes of not getting asked to order drinks or appetizers we decided to cut ourlosses and leave (as did the couple on the deck outside). The waitress assigned to our table never talked to us but checked onother tables several times and chatted with a customer at the bar casually about cocktail ingredients while we were left totwiddle our thumbs. Based on the cost of the menu I expected to spend $80 - $100 on the check. No staff asked why or seemed tocare that we were leaving. We went to another restaurant called Yard House and spent $90 and were treated with excellentservice. I usually don?t go out of my way to leave a review unless I really like something but this was just a truly horriblecustomer experience I feel like other folks should know about. Read more

Was super excited to try this place but didn?t even have the chance to order. When we walked in we were seated immediately and... it was seemingly not busy - maybe six tables. Water was also quick to arrive. After that?nothing. Another table who was seatedafter us who clearly knew the staff and was able to order and have drinks served quickly. I totally understand that they wereshort staffed. I saw only three people working and seemingly one was only allowed to serve water or run food but couldn?t takeorders. All fine but we were repeatedly ignored. The waitress checked on the table right next to us to see how their food wasbut didn?t even offer a ?I?ll be with you in a minute? or frankly look in our direction. The two wait staff also had to make allthe drinks - again I can understand how this slows service. But they still made an effort to chat with the tables close to thebar, talking through cocktail ingredients and cracking jokes. So seemingly some tables were getting all the service while wecouldn?t even get acknowledged. Maybe if I could?ve at least had a glass of wine I would?ve stayed longer but after 15 minutesof zero interaction we left. Read more

It was our 2nd time visiting the mauldin location. We decided to try the pizza this time around. The dough tasted as if it was... bought frozen from a grocery store paper thin crust. Flavors were good but they definitely need to consider a thicker betterquality crust. Read more

The food service was good, brought out in a timely manner. The salad was very good. The servicing size was more than adequate.... We would have liked a more flavor in the entrees we had. The atmosphere and subdued lighting was appreciated. We will visitagain. Read more

The stuffed mushroom appetizer was great and the cabonara and Scallops AlaRomesco was excellent. Star of the night was the tiramisu dessert ****** Read more

Hidden gem in Mauldin. Great Italian cuisine. It's hard to find really great thin crust pizza. They nailed it.

Had to leave a review? my husband and I live in Mauldin and have passed by so many times. We decided to try out Luna Rosa... tonight and.. WOW. Our server was so friendly- another server and the owner checked on us frequently. The food was.. absolutelystunning. I consider myself to have a fine palate (I know, snobby sounding) but I love food and I love to cook. I was so amazed. The drinks were top notch- we also had the pizza rolls (don?t let the basic name fool ya!), carbonara & sherry four cheeseravioli (heavenly), and the cannolis.. exquisite. I will definitely be going back and I can?t wait to take my family to this gemwhen they come to visit. :) Read more
