We had the pleasure of dining at Rustico Kitchen and Bar last night for the first time before returning my daughter to Tabor... Academy after a long weekend. Our waiter Tyrone was extremely friendly and attentive and offered some great menu suggestions. My artisan cocktail (Rosemary Cherry Wood Smoked Negroni) was special with a cherry wood smoke bubble that was fun to pop andfilled the air with a lovely smokey aroma. Delicious food, great service, cozy atmosphere! Booths with pillows and a wood slab bar give this place a welcoming, rustic... vibe. I had the Blueberry/Peach Goat Cheese salad and my husband had the Vo-Vo pizza - both were yummy. Their fall dessertspecial, Deconstructed Pumpkin Cheesecake, was soooo good! Has potential but has a long way to go. 1. We were seated at a table/booth combo. 75% of our time there staff gathered within... arms reach of us on an abutting table/counter to discuss server table allocations, problems and back of house issues. We couldnthave a private conversation and had to listen in like we were staff. Handle that in private. Go in the kitchen, not right nearguests. Literally within 3 feet. People are out to eat for a nice night out not to hear behind the scenes drama and not be ableto talk their whole meal. 2. The prices for what you get are too high. 14.50$ for a martini not even in a martini glass and notfull? 22$ for an overcooked chicken cutlet with a tablespoon of marinara on it? You?re better off going to 99, they have betterfood quality and prices. 3. The food is subpar. A ?baguette? sandwich that is pale white that looks like it was thawed fromfrozen and not even toasted. 4. The service is slow and isnt trained in standard service. No proper check in intervals, notasking any of the appropriate questions. Randomly trying to push garlic knots after placing our app order. 5. Never was askedabout any specific issues with the food or service. Leaving them no chance to redeem themselves for all the issues. 6. When thecheck came we were given a device and had to enter our cards and process the payment ourselves. Again we are not staff. Ivenever seen this at any other restaurant. All while the waiter stands and watches. Why not enter it if you are going to hoverover us anyway? 7. No screen on the outdoor window so flies were coming in and landing on our drinks. 8. A large chalk boardwith a number identifies the table, taking up a lot of space. Servers should have a seating map and/or memorize the tablenumbers and not waste space with a cumbersome and unprofessional plackard. 9. The food was delicious. The new menu looks great. Can?t wait to go back and try other recipes. The only problem was the wait. It... felt like they were taking too long to prepare our food. When we ordered desert it took way longer than expected and we decidedto take it home. Abby the waitress did I good job serving us. I think the problem was in the kitchen with the wait. Drinks weredelicious and the beer was cold. Hopefully when I go back things will get better in terms of waiting for the food and I can editthis review and give a 5 star. Read more
My boyfriend ordered me a wedge salad to go after sitting at the bar and getting drinks. Once he got home I opened it and it was... not even close to a wedge. The lettuce was already cut up. They also forgot the salad dressing. I also had to throw out all ofthe pork belly that was on top of the salad because it was all fat and grizzled. Which wasn't even supposed to come on the saladbecause he ordered it without protein. What a waste of money. Read more
