This was my second time visiting. Both times I got the fried flounder. The first time I came on a weekday around lunch. The... flounder was seasoned, flavorful and cooked just right. This time the restaurant was quite a bit busier. The fish wasovercooked and tasteless. I was a bit disappointed but that's the way it is sometimes. I will give them another chance at somepoint in the future but will go during an off peak time. The wait staff is attentive and the a/c is the coldest in all ofMatagorda. I have had some less than perfect dining experiences before but I have to hand it to the Waterfront for the worst experience... without even dining. My wife and I arrived at the restaurant. The dining room was about 75% full. We were told to be seatedwhere ever we like. We picked a table. We noticed there were plenty of wait staff. At least 2 different ladies serving the othertables around us. I noticed a woman sitting alone in the corner drinking wine. The reason I noticed her was because for somereason she was the center of attention for 2 of the waitresses. Each spend a solid 10 mins each just lingering and chatting withthis woman. Like old friends. The hustle and bustle was completely tuned out for them. They were comfortably lingering, one legon the floor and one knee on a chair, half sitting. Meanwhile waitresses walked by us and almost seemed as if we wereintentionally being ignored. they literally turned their head away as they walked by. We couldn't get their attention. Is thissome kind of private club we mistakenly thought was a public business? Unfortunately that is a question we never got to ask aswe never got a menu, or checked on by anyone. After over 25 mins of being ignored we left. Again as we walked out not a singlestaff member acknowledged our existence. We have travelled the country from coast to coast, northern border to southern and havenever had an experience like this one. I almost felt like I was a ghost... I wish there was a negative rating because that wouldbe 5 stars. The photo is of the second waitress holding court with the lady drinking wine. Service and food was both excellent!!!! We ordered a plate of 2 soft shell crabs for an appetizer (even tho it was a dinner... plate) and they were awesome!!! Had a combo plate of shrimp and oysters and they were the best I've ever had!!! Most placesovercook theirs, but it was fresh and fluffy!! Fried perfectly!!! Th salad was sple but very fresh and a nice selection ofdressing!!! Staff came by frequently even tho it was a full house!!! I'll definitely be back!! Read more

Raw oysters, no half shell, slimy. I've never turned down an oyster until now. Limp salad, with limp tomatoes, the ranch was... good. He enjoyed his meal. The fry's, the shrimp, the bread, the view, and the margaritas were good. The waitress was great???? Read more
Hole in the wall/on the bay? Possibly, but who cares - fresh shrimp and awesome service. The views are good too from this 2nd... story restaurant. Ask about the fresh catch of day - Waterfront doesn't disappoint. 5 stars if the menus had been clean... Read more

Their flounder is A#1 Delicious I love how they fry it , love the way it?s cut cross cross on top, so you just use your fork to... pull a piece off and eat it. They also have stuff flounder and it looks fabulous too. Great waitresses. You get a cute littleloaf of bread . Salad has lettuce & tomatoes freshly made carrots too, so it?s not served limp it?s crispy . It has some higherprices, but since the food is fabulous it?s worth it. I think the only thing is the shrimp is a bit skimp. Read more
