The food and service were both excellent. One of my minor concerns was that on 2 out of 3 of my visits there, the volume of the... background music was way too high, you could hardly hear each other talking. The restaurant is very clean and so are thewashrooms. Another minor concern was that there were only two small client washrooms, which made it a bit of a wait when therestaurant was near maximum seating capacity. Hands down the best breakfast/lunch place in town. Some of the reviews don't do it justice - the menu seems "the same" as others... in the area but the difference is in the details: All the lunch meats (except for the ham) are prepared in-house, then sliced.Soups are made from scratch daily. The generous "cup" of chili comes in a bowl. For a small upcharge you can sub your sandwichbread for a home-baked sliced bread. Sandwiches come with a cookie but Boston cream cupcakes are worth adding on! Breakfastportions are massive. A pancake is the size of the plate and the loaded oatmeal is a shareable portion. We had breakfast here at the recommendation of my fiance's relatives. As much as I love living in a big city, the local,... small-town atmosphere here was pleasant and welcoming - a nice change of pace. All of the breads and baked goods are made freshdaily in-house, and our server was very pleasant and informative. Had a breakfast sandwich and hash browns that came out quicklyand tasted amazing. Always an awesome meal. Took my family there for lunch and it was wonderful. My mother and I had the haddock sandwich special... which came with a huge side salad and it was perfect. My son had their Rachel sandwich and my wife a chicken salad which shealmost couldn't finish. The atmosphere is very relaxed and has a family feel. Read more
This COZY little place was exactly what we were looking for for breakfast...delicious freshly ground coffee ? and made to order... food. My husband ordered 1 pancake, 2 eggs and sausage and I had oatmeal with fresh strawberries. The pancake was so big italmost didn't fit on the plate! (I should've takin a pic) You also had a option of REAL maple syrup! All the food wasDELICIOUS!
