This is the third time that I have been to the Walnut Kitchen. Every time before this, I have had no complaints. This time, the... food was amazing, as usual. We arrived at 6pm on a Wed. It did not appear to be busy, although they did have a large party thereof about 20 or so. We sat next to the kitchen, which I actually enjoy. I like watching the food being prepared and served up.However, this time, I watched the assistant to the chef repeatedly handle the food with her hands. If I didn't know how amazingthe food was or the high standards that the restaurant usually has, I would have walked out. I also had an empty water glass fora good portion of the meal. Our waitress did not seem to have time for all of her tables. These issues may be related to thestaffing shortages. I will go back because my previous visits were always great. Read more

After driving by this restaurant many times while in Maryville, my husband and I finally had a chance to stop for dinner. It's a... beautiful building with a rich history and excellent Farm to Table food options. We were thoroughly impressed and can't wait tocome back. Thank you for the amazing service and wonderful food! Read more

Best steaks ever! I had the filet and hubby had the ribeye. Cheese and bacon rotini is a modern spin on Mac n cheese that did... not disappoint. We started with the spinach dip. It was delicious. I could have eaten it with a spoon and no bread but thecrusty bread was yummy. Dessert was the finale with Cinnamon roll and the blackberry cobbler. Needless to say we left with twoto go boxes! Always the best food and the service was second to none. Highly recommend. Read more

WOW!! What an awesome establishment. A really cool atmosphere in an old brick building. I recommend all the appetizers, but if... you can have only one, get the chicken lollipops. I am from the South and I have eaten a lot of fried chicken, with that beingsaid, hands down, the chicken lollipops were the best fried chicken I have ever had. My adult son said the same thing. Thesautéed Okra was unbelievably delicious. The wagyu burger was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The walnut old fashionedpaired well with the burger, but let's face it, whiskey goes with anything! A definite must stop, even if this place is out ofthe way! Read more
