Went to Bluetick Tavern for lunch. It's a trendy little bar in downtown Maryville. The staff was very friendly and attentive.... It's a pretty cool place. I started out with a Highland Gaelic Ale which was really good. Dark hoppy goodness. I got a pubburger and onion rings. I ordered it medium and it actually came that way. It was juicy and cooked perfectly on a very freshbun. A really good burger. The battered onion rings were crunchy and chewy. They were so good my girlfriend pounded most of themdown before I could. To repay this travesty I ate her delicious parmesan fries. Both were very good. So for dessert we ordered acookie topped with ice cream. Chelsea and I were getting irritated at how long this was taking. Well to our delight they baked amassive chocolate chip cookie in a cast iron skillet with ice cream and caramel sauce. It was beyond good. We got in a physicalconfrontation over the last bite. Good things come to those that can wait. I learned my lesson. We had a very good lunch andwill definitely be going back. Hands down, BEST sweet potato fries ever! Had some zing! And not soggy! Server was great. Good music. Highly recommend!
Fish and chips with coleslaw. Fish is cod which was good, just a little on the heavy side of breading. Fries are Aubrey's and... always a hit. Slaw was light and made perfectly. Only reason for 4 star is service. It can be bothersome when you have to flagdown server to ask for a refill or condiments you originally asked for when order was placed. Read more
Came through to town from Florida for first college tour. 9:15 when we arrived and 10 they close. Many patrons still dining.... Service was not at all coming or good. No personality, slow and forgot drinks that sat at bar. Beers were not super cold either.Food came out in a timely matter and looked good. But was not fries were cold as well as the two burgers and chicken. Music wasso loud when we arrived you could feel the base in your chest. Kinda was real excited about stopping in here too. Atmosphereseems to have good vibe. Everyone has an off night. I?d try it one more time and see how pizza goes. Read more
Some places are famous for good reasons; this is one of them. The combination of food, service, and atmosphere is very hard to... beat. My wife had a very nice Reuben, while I opted for the old favorite, shrimp & grits... both were terrific. Read more
Three stars because it seems odd to leave two stars for a place that has so many positive reviews. It was our first visit today... but sadly it?s probably our last. The service was good and we were seated immediately. Not crowded or anything so we thought itwould be a great place to grab lunch. They have a good selection of beer which is always a plus. The waitress was attentive andfriendly. The food however was? bad. I ordered a medium/well burger and it definitely was far into the well done category. Thecheese was almost no existent (sad too as I was wanting to try the Sweetwater farms cheese). My fries however werefantastic! My wife ordered something that she basically didn?t even touch. She said it wasn?t good at all. I was able toidentify that she ordered sweet potato fries. She said they seemed as though they were cooked a day or so ago. Lacking flavorand just overall Terrible. The bacon was so fatty and undercooked that she immediately sat it aside. For a 50$ lunch I wouldhave expected a lot more. I did love the choice of music and the overall looks of the place. We started with the potato wedges, they were decent but there really wasn't anything special about them. The BBQ pork nachos had... a nice flavor, but the chip to toppings ratio was off. They were in a smaller bowl and so condensed it seemed like we didn't getmuch to eat and it was difficult to get a chip with anything on it. The pizza was pretty good though. Finally got around to the bluetick tavern. The place looks great inside. Prices were about right for a higher priced ... burger. On a higher priced burger I am expecting better quality everything. Placed order at 12:21pm and got the food at12:53pm so 32 minutes. The fries were old but the burger was hot. That tells me the food was not sitting under a heat light,just the fries. The burgers are in dire need of a burger press. The patty did not fill the bun and was too big to fit in themouth. The tomatoes were slices from tiny tomatoes and the lettuce was very fine and cooked by the burger. The flavor wasabsent. I found more flavor in a burger king burger. I will try this place again because it might have been an off day. Read more
