Visiting friends who live in Marshall and decided to head to Zadie's Market for dinner on a Friday evening. Ordered our food... and drinks at the bar of this old jailhouse basement that has hotel rooms upstairs. Someone in our party was unsure of whatthey wanted to drink, so they let him try some of their offerings. I went straight to the IPA on tap. Went outside and got atable overlooking the French Broad river. It was a perfect evening weather wise. I got the Smash burger and recommend it. This was an absolutely awesome place. The food was delicious and service was impeccable. Wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable... staff. Excellent selection of local beverages (the ginger beer was great) and right on the French Broad River! I can't wait togo back! The market area were they sell local products was very cool and I'm looking forward to perusing it upon my return! Read more
Ambiance was fantastic. Lots of seating options and a front row view of the French broad river. Good alcoholic beverage variety.... Food was overpriced, but it filled us both. History, art, and culture incorporated into the building were very cool. Read more
My pork peach sandwich was amazing. A friend of mine posted a picture of her pork peach sandwich on Facebook a few days ago and... I couldn't wait to visit Zadie's Market so that I could order one. I had the beet salad with it and it was great. My husbandhad the BLT with fries. We had a beautiful 30 minute drive from Asheville. Read more
Now I can say I ate in jail, and it was great! Friendly staff, great burger and fries, best salad my wife says she's ever had.... Sat at a table overlooking the French Broad river. Then we bought a homemade ice cream sandwich and some sourdough bread, whichwas awesome. And we didn't even need a reservation! Loved it. Read more
Beautiful spot along the river; delicious food, excellent beers, and super friendly staff. One of the most unique places to eat, shop or stay. They have a hotel with 4 or 5 welll thought out rooms. Whether it's just one... person or a family with a dog, you can find a great room that will fit your needs! With amazing views! They have great selection of food and drinks. From coffee to beer they have it. No hardalcohol. There's six beers on tap mostly local and seasonal beers, they also have cans of beer to include ciders. Let's talkfood, they had something for everyone. Berger, sandwiches, salads, and more. I had the brased pork and pimento grits that wasfantastic. This dish is perfect in size and the flavors are balanced. It was just a little salty, but it wouldn't stop me fromenjoying it again! My wife had the papy ban Apple sandwich with the honey beat salad. From the bun to the cole slaw, the entiresandwich was fantastic! The beat salad is a must have!
