I'm a regular here and their food is the best around the area. You can taste how fresh it is and how they have perfected each... meal. The fresh cut fries are perfect and are tasty even on days I run late to pick up my order and the fries become a bitcolder. They also offer local goods like jams, candles, soaps, and Thoma meat market products. I sincerely wish we had morecafes like this around, but in the meantime I will gladly eat here routinely. Finally decided to give Mars Farmhouse a chance and it was well worth it. Tried their Lent Menu and it was really good. I had... the fried fish meal and got two huge pieces of fish, fries and Mac and cheese. They have a great online ordering process, I putin my order around 2pm for 5:45 and everything was ready to go and fresh from the fryer. The Mac and cheese was a little chilly(still really good) but everything else was perfect! Everyone there was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be tryingout some more of their menu! My first-time experience with this cafe was interesting. I went in totally blind, having just seen that they were on the vendor... list for the Mars car show while I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for lunch. It seems to be a fairly new,family owned-and-run cafe still looking to get their "foot in the door". I ordered the brisket gouda melt (pictures attached),and, while I was waiting, two of the owner's very young children had just finished eating and were running around the diningarea loudly playing with each other. They weren't being too disruptive, but it was a touch awkward and unprofessional, sincethe dining area was fairly small. They did, however, leave right as my order was ready, so I suppose I just came at a bad time. That, combined with the fact that the only seating was two tablecloth-covered fold-out tables with those blue plastic schoolchairs sorta turned me off of eating in the cafe. I would personally have liked to see a few nicer tables/chairs (potentiallyone or two outdoors!) and maybe some low music in the background so that guests wouldn't have to eat in awkward silence. Anyways, the first thing I noticed in regards to my food was that the potato chips that came with the sandwich seemed to behomemade, which was a nice touch! The sandwich was very good, however, it was also a touch too greasy and seemed veryunhealthy. It sorta gave me the vibe of a sandwich at a really good diner. This, however, may have been due to the specificsandwich I chose, and there were likely healthier options. All in all, I would definitely recommend and can certainly seemyself going back if I'm in the mood for a really good sandwich in Mars!
