Reviews for Joe's Peking Duck House in Marlton, NJ
Food tasted great HOWEVER 3 out of 3 of us were hurting in some form or another. I got a pounding headache immediately after... eating my duck, my sister got full food poisoning and felt sick for days, and my dad felt nauseous. On Father?s Day. GuessingMSG among other reasons. Sucks because the food tasted so good and the service was quick. Read more
Fantastic food, everything is made fresh and tastes like it is too. The service here is phenomenal too.
Amazing Peking duck spread. The duck for 2 comes with so much food. The duck was tender. The fried rice was made to order and... had ample flavor. The wonton soup was perfect for the cold weather. The highlight of my meal was the service. The staff wasattentive and the food came out at the perfect time. Read more
We were up in Marlton area yesterday and decided to get Joe?s Peking Duck House?s amazingly delicious wonton soup to take home... with us. We have been dining-in and taking out food from here for over 30 years. We no longer live in Marlton, however when everwe are in the area, we always order takeout. When dining-in we always get the duck with the plum sauce, steam bread and bokchoy. Read more
Had a craving for soup dumplings (siu long bao). The skin was too thick and barely any soup. Would not recommend for soup... dumplings. We ordered soup dumplings, wonton soup with roast pork/roast duck, and beef chow fun. The wonton soup arrived firstwithin 5 minutes, the chow fun next, and then the soup dumplings way later. The timing of the food was awkward. The wonton soupwas served with the end of the duck near the tail, which I have never seen before served with wonton soup at other restaurants(basically a undesired cut of the duck, one piece was mostly fat). The char siu was tough and lacking taste. The wonton noodleswere hard. Maybe I was just unlucky and it was a bad day at the restaurant, but as a first generation Cantonese person I wasdisappointed and the quality was not what I am accustomed to at other traditional Chinese restaurants. The soup and noodle weretoo salty. I would not recommend the wonton soup or char siu, better to head into Chinatown for those. The roast duck itself, although not the expected cut of meat you'd find in wonton soup was good. The chow fun noodles were delicious and would orderagain. May return and give this place another try. Update: Have them another try dining in. This time much better. Still only cash ????. But food was delicious. Decided to give... Joes a try after reading a bunch of reviews. They only offer take out right now, and cash only (lost a star for that). The juicydumplings were really good. Very flavorful. Also the beef on a stick and wonton soup was fresh and tasty. I had the beef in hotpepper sauce and it is one of the best I have had. Spicy but not to the point you can't taste the beef or veggies. Over all verygood, yeah I would go back...wish they would take credit cards, or discount the prices a bit since they are only taking cash andnot getting any cc fees charged to them.... Read more
My sister came across this place while she was picking up some duck donut next door. She told me how good the Peking duck was... and I must try. I drove all the way from Philly to try this place out. I could not believe I?m just discovering this place afterall these years. This place is a amazing. The food is authentic and taste better than most of the restaurants in PhillyChinatown. I?m a foodie and I would travel for food. I would not mind paying $5 toll just to come here for the food. The Pekingduck is a must try and you would not be disappointed. The wonton soup was so tasty. We did the set dinner for 4. We also got thesoup dumplings which I wasn?t too crazy about. The flavor was good but the skin of the soup dumplings were a bit too thick. Thestaff were all very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back soon to try other dishes. Read more
This restaurant is about 25 minutes away; there's a reason i mention this. We went there explicitly to try out a new Chinese... spot, and this place had great reviews. We ordered the grandfather's chicken (their version of general tso's), duck fried rice, egg drop soup, spicy green beans, and pork soup dumplings. The duck fried rice was probably the best thing we ate, if a littledry. The egg drop soup was disappointing; overly thick and flavorless. The soup dumplings were decent, but no soup inside, pretty much just regular pork dumplings. The grandfather's chicken was middling; really sweet (even though i ordered spicy) andbatter heavy. I would love to tell you how the green beans were but....they weren't in the bag. And this is why I mentioned thedistance. Normally I'd make a quick call to the restaurant and get the cost of the green beans refunded but....THE BUSINESS ISCASH ONLY. Have to admit it really sours the overall experience. If you're going to charge cash, you can't assume everyone isaround the corner. You've got to get it right. Not going back again unfortunately. Read more
