Stopped here to grab a quick bite after reading the positive reviews, and it was a solid experience. I ordered a sausage, egg... and cheese waffle slider and a chicken waffle slider. Both were hot, fresh and delicious. The waffle was perfectly fluffy andthe chicken had just the right amount of crunch. One downside was the unpleasant service from the staff. Bought the 2pc Whiting w/ country rice (red beans and rice). The fish was great - the rice was sort of dry, but the seasoning... was very good. The cornbread was small, but it was good and sweet. The prices are fair but I wish they had more variety. Now thestaff were nice, but no disrespect, it was a bunch of high-schoolers and college kids running the operation. They couldn?tanswer questions like ?what fish is in the fish salad? and couldn?t work fast enough to keep up the pace of lunchtime. Overall,I recommend the place. I wish I would have gotten pictures. All the people who review this restaurant as a go to place thank you. The food was so good.... Chicken well seasoned. Wow! I?ve had chicken and waffles before but theirs set the standard. Google Maps sent me to the back for some reason (just turn... next to Paisano?s straight off St. Barnabas Rd) but the food was worth the misdirection. The wait wasn?t long and the staff onthe first day we ordered was good; not so much the consecutive days on which we ordered on the app (failed to get our food outin a timely manner once and left it sitting with one cashier taking others while others stood around jaw-jacking on the thirdvisit). Extremely poor customer service. The woman at the register was uninterested in acknowledging our order and after waiting 15... minutes AFTER the order was ?said? to be done, I was told that my food was not ready?watched it sit in front of me until thelady at the register felt like grabbing my order. Finally had an opportunity to stop in to see what was cooking! My first time and definitely NOT my last time!! I ordered the 5... piece chicken & waffle. Service was great & accommodating (as I?ve observed how the crew meet the needs & changes of customer?sahead of me). The smell of the food made you anxious for your order, which didn?t take long at all.. approx. 15 minutes in &out. ???? FAST, FRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! My sister and I were visiting from North Carolina and she wanted some chicken and waffles.... We found this place on google. I am a country girl who is ALWAYS apprehensive about eating Fried Chicken in Northern states butthis place was really good and seasoned so well. I had a waffle slider.
