A absolutely great find! Excellent bbq. Hot and fresh. The chicken was so good, as was the sausage and ribs. Every thing... homemade. Wonderful potato salad and homemade beans and bbq sauce. The sign off of highway six points down a dirt road and says ? Saturday only?....two very promising indicators....One always... hopes to find the ?best barbecue on the planet?. Yesterday I?m pretty sure we found it. Perfectly cooked pork, brisket andchicken (the sausage had run out but I?m guessing based on the other meats it?s beyond perfect). We were up in Marlin, Tx visiting family and decided to get a bite to eat. We settled on eating BBQ and after checking for... local places, saw that D&S had great reviews. If you?re heading to Waco from Houston , make a point of stopping in at D&S BBQ for a great meal from some dedicated folks. Very... moist tender brisket, pork ribs and house made sausage were our choices. Grandkids chose some very tasty beans, potato salad.Owner gave us a sample of his unique, creative greens which blew us away! What a find! We were heading north on State Highway 6 and craving good BBQ when Google steered us to this true Texas gem just... off the beaten path in Marlin. The friendly owner greeted us with a generous sample of his secret recipe greens. Wow! Bestgreens we have had since grandma left us. The barbecue was fall off the bone tender and finger-licking delicious. A delightfulbreeze cooled the covered dining area which was decorated for Halloween and so cute I posted pics on my FB page. Great tunes ona fine system, the gracious staff, and the view of the farm made us happy to stay a while. This place is everything you want ina BBQ restaurant and more! Time your travel to hit Marlin on Saturdays at lunch when they are open. We didn?t see a sign on SH6. They might not need to advertise to locals, but we were glad Google told us where to turn to find the best BBQ we have had ina long time. Read more
