Reviews for Madison County Winery in Markleville, IN
According to a message from the owners, the winery is permanently closed. We were there on Friday 21 October 2022 around 2 PM... and it was closed. There is a for sale sign just to the North of the parking lot advertising 1-7 acres for sale. Bummer. Read more
Hands down the best winery I've visited. These guys know wine. I'm picky when it comes to taste. So it's safe to say that... when I try a novelty like chocolate wine and am impressed... yeah these guys know wine. I plan on returning to buy several morebottles. Read more
We camped there last weekend for the second time. Love the place and the people!! Great wines too. The blueberry slushee over... Labor Day was my fave but the cab slushee runs a close second. Hope we can make it back before the end of the camping season butif not, it?s close enough to run out for a couple of glasses!! Read more
The only thing we actually liked were the blueberry slushees. Each wine we tasted was worse than the previous one, and the... selection was so limited we didn?t know what we could taste that might actually be good. I wanted to like it, but they were justreally bad. I hope they get better and learn what makes a great wine, because they just don?t have any. Read more
This was my first time visiting this venue. We felt welcomed from the time we walked in and out. The owners hospitality was the... tops. They was informative., I felt like they knew our tastebuds through our conversation alone. I would say that this winerywould be worth visiting a second time. Thanks Read more

What a lovely surprise! My wife and I were driving from Kansas City to Galena, Illinois when we happened upon a sign for the... Bridges of Madison County. Of course, we knew the book and the movie so we had to stop (we are always up for a random, newadventure). As we were finding bridges, we stumbled upon a sign for the winery. We entered the winery and immediately were drawnin. From the art on the walls, to the music, to the fire in the fireplace. Kathy (the lone employee there) made us feel rightat home. We had a dry white, some mulled wine and a meat and cheese board by the fire. My wife exclaimed ?she was never going toleave.? We met Doug, the owner and ended up chatting for quite awhile. Loved this place. We will definitely be back!! Read more
