Was in the plaza picking up something else & saw this place and got excited as I haven't had Caribbean cuisine in quite some... time. Noticed that their oxtail dinner is way cheaper than other places so placed an order for it. Got my dinner pretty quickly(one person finished picking up food as I arrived). Had it at home and it tasted good but sadly, the 3 large pieces of oxtailwas mostly fat and what wasn't was dried out and not fall apart tender as I would expect with oxtail. Hopefully they can improvethis. The other thing I noticed is that their jerk chicken is white meat only (no thanks!). Read more
How I've missed Island Foods since they closed their mainstay location at King and Dufferin. I was so delighted to discover... this recently-opened takeout location near to my place of business. It offers the exact versions of all of the dishes I grew sofond of at their previous location. This establishment is impeccably clean and professional and the gentleman who serves meevery time I've been in is proficient and I've never had a mistake in my order, (over 10 now). If I could give more stars, I would! Ordered deconstructed chicken curry with roti and also ordered doubles. Honestly, the food... was outstanding! The curry chicken was so flavourful and quite a big portion, and the doubles just took me back to my youth.There was a doubles place at Yonge and Dundas which I used to go to, and today?s doubles reminded me of that place. Not overlyoily, and the chana had a nice flavour as well, and of course the tamarind sauce takes it over the top. It was reasonably pricedas well. I called the place to let them know of my utmost joy. We tend to call to complain, rather than praise. I thoroughlyenjoyed it and I HIGHLY recommend!! Read more

Tried this place for the first time. Using their online ordering system, I ordered a curry chicken roti for takeout. The... ordering process was smooth and painless, and my food was ready when I arrived. The roti tasted good, and the portions weregood - not too much, not too little. The texture of the roti was perfect. I will be coming back to try other menu items. Read more
Had the boneless goat roti twice now and it was really tasty but the portion of meat and potatoes inside the roti was quite... small. Otherwise service was fast and the flavour was great. Read more
I tried Island Foods for the first time this week and I became hooked and returned 4 days in a row. I've had the goat and... chicken roti and the beef and oxtail dinners. Everything is great, the goat was so tender and flavorful with huge pieces. Iadded vegetables or channa to the chicken roti, a nice touch. Their hot sauce is great too, tons of flavour. Read more
I have never been here before. We ordered a ton of different food from the menu to try. Their jerk chicken and curry goat was... to die for. Their Jamaican patty is so crispy and yummy. The veggies that comes with the rice is a perfect match I havenothing bad to say, we definitely will return. Highly recommend...extremely yummy. Read more
