We visited Bruce?s today for the first time and can?t wait to return! From the fun decor to homey/casual feel to the warm smiles... and fantastic service, it?s a wonderful place to grab a bite and stay a while. Bruce spoke to every customer at least once whileI was there, making sure everyone was fed, happy and taken care of! I had the Grilled Cheesesteak Wrap (at his suggestion) witha side of pasta salad, my fiancé had the taco salad, and they wouldn?t let us out the door without reminding us to choose fromtheir dessert menu! Portions were generous and the food was so very yummy. Friendliest service and some of the best food (for areasonable price) I?ve had in a long time. The Greek chicken salad was fresh and tasty. All entrees comes with a dessert. They only had one cheesecake option due to the... cream cheese shortage but they had tons of cake flavors. I wasn't sure what to get, so the owner (?) recommended the CinnamonOatmeal Cake. She definitely did not steer me wrong. It was fabulous indeed. Read more
I looked online for lunch restaurant in Marion and found Bruce?s. My husband, adult grandson and I so enjoyed our lunch this... past Monday. Susan was an absolutely wonderful server. The soups (turkey noodle and Italian tomato) were yummy. The atmospherewas homey and friendly. Grandson had the Hangover Halloween cheesecake which he said was incredible. Aside from over the topcheesecakes, the food was simply well- prepared, fresh, and comforting. I so hope that I am soon in that area again duringtheir limited hours they are are open so that I can return. It is a place that is good for the soul. Read more
If I could give this 10 stars I would! We happened upon this place due to the reviews and so glad we did! Bruce and his wife... both waited on our table and were so friendly and genuine. Cheesecake is included in your meal with tons of different flavors. He has 38 flavors of hummus. The pimento cheese is to die for! Tuesdays are potato specials. They are only open M-F forlunch! I ate here with my roommate last week on Friday. We were driving through the area and happened to stumble upon downtown Marion.... Not knowing the area, we parked in the shaded side of the street and looked around. "Bruce's Fabulous Foods" caught my eye. From the outside it looked like a cute, little diner restaurant. We decided to check it out since we were very hungry. I'm sohappy we decided to eat here. The inside is small but nicely organized/spaced out. There were few patrons eating. We orderedsloppy joe sandwiches ("Sloppy Bruce"). I had not eaten sloppy joe in a long time. The meat was overflowing the sandwich! Tender, juicy meat. (I did order American cheese instead of the original cheese which came with the sandwich). The vegetablebeef soup was homemade & delicious! The best part was the homemade cheesecake! (I ordered the banana pudding cheesecake. Theslice was small and thin but delicious. Loved the soft vanilla wafer on top. You could actually see & taste the small bananaslices inside the cheesecake.) Service was quick. Servers were very friendly, polite, and loved chatting. What a great little place, friendly and homey feeling staff! You couldn?t ask for better customer service and decent prices. The... food was delicious and came out fast. Plus they are very vegetarian friendly and can cater to what you eat with no extra fuss. Ilove that everything is homemade and from what I was told, Bruce doesn?t even use recipes just his experience. The banana cakewas out of this world!
