We had a chocolate chip cookie, cortado, and a chai latte. One of my best chocolate chip cookies. Both drinks were tasty too.
I always wonder what Bar Nine looked like before it was closed. I've heard good things about this low-key roastery in Culver... City. All I got now is Cafe Ten. Just like Bar Nine, Ten is tucked away in a quiet area without tons of foot traffic. The cafe'shigh ceiling and open kitchen create a sense of space and definitely make a strong first impression. Ten does a few things inits own ways. Besides serving its own Bar Nine roast, it also house bakes pastries, not just the normal stuff like muffins andcookies, it always got some fancy, original stuff you don't get elsewhere. I once had something that looks like a scone but it'smade from tightly rolled up croissant dough and I relished the flaky texture and savory taste. Talking about food, I also had asandwich here and loved it. The Bub & Grandma's sourdough bread is toasted to golden and served with fresh greens and perfectlyfried eggs. I had a cappuccino, a cortado and an iced latte at Ten, I don't have anything to complain or rave about. One thingstands out is that Ten serves to-go drinks in a glass without surcharge. No paper or plastic waste, for sure, but I find theglass too narrow for household use so that's just another kind of waste in my opinion. Read more
Yummy, interesting food (Mascarpone in your quiche? Wow.). There's a legit chef behind this somewhere. Good coffee. Vibe a... little too cool and dispassionate for me, maybe not for you. Comfy looking chairs that are oddly hard on the seat, like theydon't really want you to stay too long. Open, airy, high ceiling, big windows. Outside patio next to the road. Read more
