Came here to camp and wine tasting. I'm a member of Harvest Host Camping and this place offers free camping and wine tasting. I,... my wife and another couple went in my Rv. This place is a little out of the ways but worth every mile. The restaurant is nolonger in operation as the owner's wife has retired. They are after all in their 80's. But Larry opens it up for wine tasting. You have to call him to let him know you'd want some wine tasting. His wine ARE ALL AWARD WINNING WINES. ALL GOLD MEDALS. Theywere all so good we bought 4 cases of different wines. He only have red wines by the way. And that is all good for us. Larry isa very welcoming host. He has stories to tell. Well he's got 87 years worth of stories. He welcomes everyone to camp. Just opendirt space. Lots of space and surrounded by hills and vineyards. We are already planning on coming back. Come visit and try thewines soon before Larry decides to retire. Read more
Had a really good steak dinner years ago while building a power plant in Taft. Sunrise. Very hospitable and accommodating.
Made 2 new friends today! Oh, and had some great wine!
Lovely tasting experience, definitely unique to Cuyama. Larry, proprietor and winemaker, is a gem who will charm you with... stories and area history. The Cabernet Sauvignon is excellent, spending two years in neutral oak barrels and then two to threeyears in bottle. The result of this lengthy again process is unobstructed fruit flavors showing with each vintage. Top notch! Read more
