What can I say? I'll travel anywhere for really good tacos. Lucky for me I don't have to go very far because right around the... corner, in Maplewood, is a fantastic taco spot: this one. We've ordered from here a number of times and they are just so good.We've tried every taco available, their quesadilla, they're cheeseburger crunch wrap (which is to die for) and their side ofcorn and frijoles which we always get. My husband and I just ordered from Scratch Taco for the first time and we?re so happy we did! This will take top billing on our... list of take out places. We both had the chicken burritos and a side of guacamole. Everything was excellent- fresh, neatlypackaged and yummy. Even thought the burrito was warm, the lettuce still had a crunch. I was in the mood for some tacos and decided to try this restaurant. I called in my order of cajun shrimp tacos. When I arrived... I parked nearby in the train station lot. I walked in and told the young lady I was there for a pick up. My food was ready and Ipaid about $16 for 3 tacos. When I got home I dug in and the tacos weren't bad at all. The only thing I didn't care for was theactual tortilla was a bit hard. Not sure if it was flour or corn. That was the only issue but the actual seasoning of everythingwas pretty good and light. Scratch taco is a Mexican themed joint for a quick taco dinner or bowl. I ordered the Baja tacos which were tasty and came 3 for... 15.99. The available sides range from traditional rice, beans and chips to corn, dirty rice and taco rolls. The establishmentwas clean and lightly decorated for Halloween. The Baja fish tacos were served on flour tortillas with a cabbage slaw on top anda tasty, creamy sauce. The tacos were tasty. On the other hand, this establishment does, unfortunately, practice disingenuousmarketing practices. Both the menu posted on the front door and the menu inside do not reflect the real prices. All of the tacosare priced at $12 but there is a +4 charge for fish as well as short rib which is not disclosed to the guest until they pay.Additionally, if you don?t ask for your receipt you will remain ignorant of the actual price you paid. Wildly impressed at this cute little place. My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes out of the way to get here based solely on the... reviews and I will say I?m glad we did. We got the Baja fish tacos, cauliflower tacos, street corn in a cup, and my bf had thecheeseburger crunch wrap. As the pescatarian of the 2 of us, my favorite was probably the cauliflower tacos. Crazyflavor. There?s a wall of hot sauces to try and available for purchase. My favorite was The General?s Grunt Green hotsauce. Happy to say this is our new taco spot and can?t wait to come back!
