Cool space with solid beers (ipa/hop centered though there are other options mixed in as well) and friendly bartenders who were... happy to offer recommendations about local food options. Would go back and would recommend to others! Read more

I really enjoyed my visit to this brewery. They had several impressive hazy ipas and I was a big fan of the barrel aged stout... they had called goodie bag. The beer names were mostly fun pop culture references, the taproom was a fun space with cool muralson the walls, and they allow outside food so you can bring in or doordash whatever you want to pair with their beers. Wish I hadthe chance to try more of their stouts, I will have to come back next time I'm in the twin cities! Read more

Wish I had more time to sample the rest of Barrel Theory's craft but if the rest is as good as Nocturnal and MDog (their two... bourbon barrels) you can not go wrong. For my part, Nocturnal blew my mind, a truly special beer. I don't get to St. Paul alot but I will find a reason to stop here again. Read more

My best friend and I headed to Barrel Theory to enjoy this year's version of their sour MPG. Was not disappointed. Barrel theory... used to have many sours, but lately they have morphed into more of a juicy NE IPA and hazy IPA Brewery. In the summer, the smallpatio is nice, and inside the atmosphere is always lively and fun. Sometimes it can get kind of loud. EDIT: I dropped in to BTa couple of nights ago. It was hopping crowded. Mask policy is strictly enforced (as of Feb 15, 2022). Tried their "BlackLotus" a heavy milk stout with coconut (10.1 ABV) which was a "sipper" and delicious, and also tried the "Raspberry Lemonade" akettle sour with raspberry and lemons (dah). It was also nicely tart and crisp (for a berliner weisse sour) and had a nice kickof fruit too. Color was an outrageous pinkish, like lemonade! See my photos. I am happy that BT is again open for laterhours, and seems to have survived the corona disaster. It was crowded. Staff was, as usual, awesome. Read more

Each and every beer is a story worth getting into. Great ambiance and wall art. Check this local favorite when you can!

Maybe the best IPA selection and flavor/ingredient profiles that I've found to date. So many delicious choices. Pair that with... the space.. open, exposed brick and beans, artsy and with the great staff. A+. 100% will return one day. Read more

I was in love with how many IPA options they had. The lady that helped us out was great at giving recommendations. We weren't a... huge fan of the pilsner. This place is a easy walk from the Drury hotel. If you love IPA's I totally recommend coming here!???? Read more
