Misty and her staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure I am happy with the treats I choose. The strawberry... shortcake is amazing and delicious. I always get one for every occasion we have .( just ordered one for this Sunday for my momsbirthday ) . everything is always fresh. The keto treats my hubby loves .. it?s nice to go in ( mantua store ) and be able tochoose from different treats that accommodate the few people in my family that are on Keto diets. I booked Devour Desserts to do a dessert table for my daughter in laws Bridal Shower. I knew it would nothing short of amazing,... and I was so right. Everything was so beautiful and tasted delicious. I gave them the bridal theme and I couldn?t haveenvisioned anything better. There was NOTHING left at the end of the shower, not one item. While I have frequented the Mantua shop occasionally to purchase goodies for both family and work events, I needed to place a... very special order for a cake for my granddaughter?s baptism. My daughter had twins ? both a daughter and son. Sorrowfully,she lost her baby boy. My daughter requested a cake to celebrate her baby girl?s baptism, and also to memorialize and honor herson in a special way. I contacted Devour Desserts initially via their online ordering system. I followed up the next day toconfirm receipt of the order and to review the special request. I ordered a cake in the shape of a cross, provided a picture ofthe type of cake, and the size needed. The order was to include my granddaughter?s name, a chocolate chip cake with buttercreamicing with pink roses. The most special part of the order was to include the initials of my late grandson in blue icing as Iwould be adding a little blue butterfly next to the initials. I exchanged emails with Michelle from the Aston location where thecake would be made. I had also added a signature platter with a variety of the specialty desserts to my order. She confirmed myrequests both verbally and via email, and I paid the $230 invoice. I followed up once again with the owner Misty and reviewedmy special order and confirmed the date and time the order would be ready in the Mantua location. All was confirmed. Here werethe issues with the order: Upon arriving at the Mantua location the morning of the baptism at the designated pick-up time, thesignature platter had not been prepared. The store was busy with customers and we had to wait at least 20 minutes for theplatter. Upon uncovering the cake at my daughter?s house after the baptism, to say we were upset is an understatement. Mygrandson?s initials were left off the cake ? forgotten. It was a heartbreaking feeling for me ? horribly upsetting for mydaughter. THE BEST! I wanted a ?naked cake? smash cake for my daughter?s first birthday. I wasn?t sure what kind to order and they walked... me through what is most popular, etc. It couldn?t have turned out better. Everyone raved about how delicious it was- and not toosweet!! Ordered a custom cake for my daughters 21st birthday. I had no real ideas of a design. I chatted with Stephanie a few times and... ultimately allowed her to do whatever she wanted. My daughter chose a vanilla cake with raspberry mousse filling. The cake wasbeautiful and tasted amazing! We did have to leave it out about 15 mins before singing and cutting. This shop is adorable and the employees are very upbeat. It seemed to be a very popular shop because there were many customers... in and out. We went for a chocolate tasting from Groupon and while the samples were absolutely delicious; the tasting wasn?tsuper organized. They hadn?t cleaned up from the previous sampling and were rushing to try to prepare for the next group. Thougheveryone was really polite, the tasting was mostly in between their other customers and ended being an hour and a half, notbecause we were learning about the products or engaged with learning about their company, but because they had to constantlystop and help customers. We would have appreciated at the table a laminated sheet of what possible tastings we were doing anddescriptions of the samples since it does seem like they don?t really have time to spend to talk about the samples. Overall, thesamples were delicious but it would have been more appreciated if we had an employee who was dedicated to the tasting sincethere was two groups, and was able to engage us in product information as well as information about the business, what makesthem unique, etc because we ended up not buying anything because we just didn?t feel like we really knew the business at the endof the tasting which was unfortunate. Edit: I already gave a 5 star review because the desserts really do deserve it. I amposting an edit because I really do appreciate when a company reaches out and acknowledges suggestions that could better anexperience. I have been coming to Devour Desserts since it opened! The dessert and candy selection grows every year, and everything is... absolutely delicious!
