Firstly I'd like to say that the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, this is about the only positive about this place. The... chips were greasy and disgusting & if you want salsa, cheese dip, & guacamole with them, it will cost you $16.99 as chips andsalsa are not complimentary. I will say their guacamole was good, but that is it. They charge $10.99 for 1 small piece of corndipped in cheese dip and rolled in some seasoning salt, which they try to pass off as authentic street corn. The Guy Fieriapproved fish tacos featured on his show were gross and the only edible item on my pork bowl was in fact the pork. The rice andbeans were bland and my bowl was swimming in so many sauces, I could only salvage the pork. Even with my meal comped, myhusband and I paid $70.00 for greasy, thick chips, a small cheese dip, salsa, & gauc, a sad ear of corn, 1 order of horriblefish tacos, 1 ice tea, & 2 stomach aches we will not soon forget. For reference, we are foodies and never hesitate to spend bigon great food. My advice is save your money & stay clear of this place. Read more

Great Mexican Resturant. We to Manteo specifically to try Ortegaz. We had a party of 8. We got there at noon, we're seated... immediately. We had a variety of menu items, the Thai Chilli Tacos, The Carnea Asida Tacos, a Mexican Meatloaf, A MexicanHamburger, and a Smoked chicken Chimichanga, and a cheese Quesadilla. We were in town for a concert at Roanoke Island Festival Amphitheater. We stopped here to eat before our concert. Love the... outside seating at the front of the building. What a cool vibe. We ate inside, which had a fun, funky vibe as well. Our firstencounter with our server was a bit off putting. He introduced himself, we hesitated for a moment on our drink orders and heseemed distracted. Then said he would be back in a minute without taking our order. We started to second guess our decision toeat here. But the rest of the evening things went great. All our drinks were very tasty. The food was delicious. We all ordereddifferent dishes and tried bites of them all. Very impressed with all the dishes we had. The stuffed mushroom app and onionrings were amazing. So glad I ordered the onion rings as a side with my salad. Definitely a must try. The server made greatsuggestions throughout the meal. At the end of our meal my husband decided we should take a shot before we left. Our serverrecommended a tequila shot with a house made chaser. I don't love the taste of liquor so I didn't love it, but it was a huge hitwith the rest of the group. Highly recommend this restaurant if your are in the area. We attempted to eat here for dinner and despite an empty restaurant we were told there would be a 45m wait because they were... short staffed and someone just quit. We decided to come back for lunch the next day and give it another try. The service wasextremely slow despite the entire place being nearly empty. We ordered the pork nachos. To say they were bad would be givingthem too much credit. They were borderline disgusting. We stopped eating them and hours later we still don?t feel well. Theywere a greazy mess with deep fried nachos that were either burned or soaked in oil that was clearly past it?s prime. The serverjust placed a bill down, never asked if we needed anything else, etc. Then we waited another ten minutes just to pay our bill.And it was fairly expensive too. Just a terrible experience and one that nearly ruined the rest of our evening trying to ridourselves of the terrible taste and grease now sitting in our stomachs. Read more

Good service and food. Whitney was an attentive host. Unsure what qualifies this as a wine bar but there was a decent selection... of drinks.l, in general. What was an amazing selection, the hot sauce. Holy cow! Our food was served very quickly and the freshchips for the nachos made my day. Happy with our meal and service.
