The food was on point- a little overpriced. This was a nonissue as the oysters were labeled where they came from and differed in... variety and size - a very cool experience for those who don?t eat these on the regular. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal last night after a day of exploring the Outer Banks. It was a welcome escape from the fried... seafood and bar food throughout the area. Our hostess, Erin, and Shannon, our server, were very knowledgeable and made greatrecommendations which added to our enjoyment. My husband loved his local oysters and as luck would have it, one of the St Jamesoysters came with a crab inside. And, apparently it's good luck to eat them. My husband excitedly accepted this challenge andsaid it popped in his mouth and just disappeared. Photo attached. ???? Always love my visits to Blue Water! Set on the marina at Pirates Cove, this place is one of the handful of restaurants on the... Outer Banks that takes reservations so a big plus there. The space is large with open bar seating as first come, first serve.Then two restaurant spaces, one sort of inner and then the "sun room" with expansive views of the marina and wetlands. We hadthe shrimp pasta which was light, fresh and perfect. The fried oysters are always great and the fried shrimp were some of thebest I've ever had. First time I've had fried shrimp here but won't be the last! Oh and the fried green tomatoes appetizer wasincredible. I do wish there were more side options instead of fries or upcharge to sub a salad. This place is a high volumerestaurant and there is a labor shortage. Take a pill, enjoy your vacation and time at Blue Water. It might not be the speediestbut everyone is doing their best. Can't wait to return next time! Read more
Our party came in for dinner. As we had reservations we were promptly seated. Our service was timely and friendly. The food was... fantastic! Everyone one loved their dishes. The Sea Bass was top shelf as was the Fried Shrimp and Seafood Pasta. To top it off,they brought out a birthday dessert for my wife. The next time I'm in the area, Blue Water is on my list to hit again. Read more
We had a great meal at Blue Water. Service was a bit slow and could have been improved, but the food made up for it. Nachos were... tasty, there were a selection of oysters to choose from, and the crab cake was all crab meat, which was amazing. The views wereneat too, getting to watch folks drive across the bridge. Would be a fun place to eat during peak season when boats are comingin and out of the marina. I'd return for sure! Read more
The kids had a better selection than the usual, burger for the one and grilled cheese for the other. Scallop salad , Blackened... Mahi with beans and rice ...all very good. First time here and we did the online reservation. Worked great. Comfortableatmosphere, smaller dining area, but it is winter. We will be back! Read more
We have always enjoyed our meals here. What a location, friendly staff and wonderfully delicious food and tasty beverages. Buck... a shuck nights are awesome. We enjoy both indoor/outdoor seating and service. The lunch deals are great, the salad offering isvery good. Sit outside, enjoy some beverages and tasty eats.... We love the view. Read more
