HOLY SMOKES. We were completely blown away and thoroughly impressed by how delicious everything was! I am not exaggerating when... I tell you that their Maple Pecan Fried Chicken is the ABSOLUTE BEST fried chicken I have ever had in my ENTIRE life (and I wasraised and have lived the past 20+ years in the south). Other notable delectable dishes are the Cali Roll Plate (add smokedmushrooms), Hungarian Mushroom Soup,the Signature Crab Dip, and the homemade Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My hat is fully off to thechef(s)! The service and ambiance of the restaurant were also spot on! I cannot imagine traveling to the outer banks againwithout stopping by here! 10/10 Highly recommended! Great food, service and most of all, dog friendly in outside seating. We planned to have lunch at the brewery nearby but there... was a 20 minute wait there, so while waiting, we noticed signs for the Avenue Grille advertising a large outdoor seating areaand being dog friendly. We saw there was no wait at the Avenue so we canceled our reservation for the brewery, which we hadalready eaten at last year anyway, and tried the Avenue. Boy, was it great! A little expensive but the food was awesome and mostof all, we sat next to the marina with our boys (dogs). It was a bit breezy the day we went, but that didn't hinder our outdoordining experience. The waiter was a very handsome and friendly guy who should be working in show business. Despite being theonly server for the inside and outside, the service was very fast, except when it was time to pay as we had to go in and fetchhim for the check. That didn't bother me as I saw him rushing around inside trying to keep up with all of the patronsinside. The food is great, with many vegetarian options. The beer selection is not big but there is enough of a variety for mostbeer drinkers. This place is like a little hidden gem that if you miss it, you are missing out on a fantastic dining experience. Stopped by for lunch and it was quite busy, we waited about 15 minutes for our party of 4 and a half, they were accommodating... with our stroller and parked it for us while we ate. We had the onion rings as an appetizer which was very good. I got the CaliFresh plate and it was amazing. Read more

If I could give this more stars I would. I have celiac disease, so I rarely encounter meals this amazing. I had a he lavender... lemonade, poached pear salad, and gluten free fried chicken! The salad had a sweet and savory tang that was like an explosion offlavors in my mouth. The fried chicken was moist and the coating was light, with a hint of maple syrup. The potatoes werewonderfully seasoned, and the veggies were perfect. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who is gluten free! Read more

This is a fantastic spot to visit. The patio is fantastic and provides a wonderful view. The server was quite pleasant and... helpful. The food was excellent. Fish tacos with tuna are a must-try. They also serve an incredible chili. I'll return if I'mever in the region. Read more

Avenue Waterfront Grille is a great restaurant to visit on the Outer Banks. It is located in downtown Manteo on the waterfront... and has a gorgeous view of Shallow Bag Bay. Their service is great as well as their food. I have been to this restaurant manytimes and had a great experience each time I have visited. They sometimes have live music outside on the deck and that is veryenjoyable. The host staff is extremely friendly and often checks up on you as you are eating to make sure everything is goingwell during your dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice local dinner to the Outer Banks or ifyou are just wanting to have a few drinks with friends at the bar and watch a sports game.
