I took my family for dinner on a Saturday evening. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The steaks were done perfectly... with great flavor. Veggies and potatoes were delicious. This review is for their lunch buffet. Cozy restaurant in central Mankato. Started with an undistinguished bowl of beef barley... soup. The buffet is basically four premade salads and a selection of sandwiches. The Caprese salad was nice, but would have beenmuch more colorful and tasty with locally grown tomato varieties. Likewise, the fruit salad should have had fresh watermelon(which is now at its peak). The sandwiches were quite good, especially the Reuben. I also tried the Cuban and the fish slider.Desserts are not included in the buffet, but are available separately, and they are beautiful. One extra star just for thedesserts. I had the chocolate cheesecake, which had a superb balance of light sweet toppings and rich dark filling. My slice ofcake was a delightful construction of flavors. Read more

Great food, great staff, and great atmosphere. I have gone to Olives two times since new management and am very satisfied with... everything I have eaten. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was well staffed and extremely kind and its is a verycomfortable atmosphere. We will be going many more times and I look forward to trying more. We have lived in the area less than a year and feel like we've eaten at enough burger and wings places for a lifetime. We had no... idea this gem of a place was hidden inside the Hilton Garden Inn downtown! The menu has so many options that it was reallydifficult to decide. We shared the spinach and artichoke dip and it was delicious with big chunks of artichokes and freshlygrated parmesan on top. I looked up the menu to find the names of the dishes we each ordered and it looks like the dinner menuhas been updated--now we have to go back! We both stepped outside our normal comfort zone when ordering and we were NOTdisappointed. Everything was beyond delicious. The service was also fantastic. The lunch buffet can't be beat in Mankato. It now costs $11.95 and is worth every penny. Cold sandwiches, six salads, bread,... meats, cheeses, and olives. The soup of the day is also included but you need to ask a waitress to bring it to you. Manyparking options in the area. Great, quick, and friendly service.
