Reviews for Briarhurst Manor Estate in Manitou Springs, CO
The briarhurst manor has been saved by the most incredible chef! Chef Billy Glowacki has turned this kitchen around! The food... was absolutely divine, the service (Salina) was incredible, the atmosphere just so relaxing and cozy. I had a wonderfulexperience and will be returning to experience this again! If you have gone anytime before the last 2 months I highly recommendgiving it another shot! The new chef knows how to cook to perfection and the staff was amazingly accommodating. I had thehalibut dinner and it was cooked to perfection. Read more
We had an absolutely lovely evening. We all had 5-course meals and were so amazed by the presentation and quality of each meal.... Our Hors D'oeuvre was a croquette with bacon, sour cream, cheese and microgreens. The bread spread included huckleberry jam, wildflower butter, and honey chili jam. The salad was gorgeous and almost to pretty to eat. Our intermezzo was a lime gelatothat was perfect to clean our palette before our entrée. We had a filet mignon, mushroom ravioli, land and sea (elk andshrimp), duck with an orange ginger glaze, and beef bourguignon. Each dish was beautifully presented and the flavors weremasterfully combined. Finally for dessert we had crème brulée, lemon lavender cheesecake, and a chocolate torte. This is the4th time I've been to Briarhurst, and each time they have outdone themselves. Everything from food, service, and setting isastounding. Read more
Definitely not what we expected. From the start we waited a good while before we met our waiter. After ordering our water and 1... beer. It took about 30 min to even get . We ordered our food (5 course meal) it took about 30 min each time to receive the nextentrée. The food wasn't as good as we expected considering the $$ price. My couscous was over cooked and clumped together, mysalad was wilted and didn't taste washed, for the $80+ plate of Elk & Shrimp you only get 2 shrimp that were over cooked dry &burnt. I wasn't impressed with the dinner set up. The waiter never provided us with more silverware after clearing our platesfor the next entrée Sit by the window you feel a cold draft, the seating wasn't comfortable, cracks in the ceiling, flickeringlights more run down then I expected. We also overheard the table next to us complain about being cold and also the prices forwhat you get. The drinks are also very pricey . Overall I am a foodie and was not impressed and wouldn't go back. Nowhere nearfine dining , way over priced for what we got. This place is also for a more a "older" type of crowd ( i say that respectfully) Read more
Five star dining and service in a historic and somewhat haunted mansion. Artistic presentation of delicious courses and a... fabulous wine selection. Beautiful grounds, artwork and craftsmanship of the building lend to a unique atmosphere anddelightful experience. Best shrimp ive ever had, and the Bison and Elk were prepared perfectly. My husband and I went here for Valentine's day weekend and we had the 5 course meal. My drink was nothing less than amazing even... though I don't remember the name of it. My husband had their version of an old fashioned, it was so smooth and tasty. InitiallyI was worried about portions seeing as the bowls and whatnot were fairly small, but it was perfect sizing to where we weresitting quite comfortably full. He had the bison and I had the elk for our dinner entrees. For an appetizer we had the lobsterbisque. I was quite delighted by it, which is saying a lot because I do not care for seafood soups usually for the reason thatit tastes too fishy. This one was creamy, flavorful and comforting. I highly recommend it. The Elk was well seasoned and cookedto perfection, probably the best Elk steak I've ever had. I cannot say too much for the Bison seeing as my husband was stingywith wanting to share because it was so good. Lastly, for dessert we had a chocolate charcuterie board with the lightest, dreamlike cheesecake and absolutely sinful truffles with chocolate covered strawberries. The service was very friendly andthoughtful. Our server Evan showed us around the Manor. It may have been quite a bit in terms of monetary value but forsomething like this, it is absolutely worth it. Briarhurst manor is definitely an amazing experience if you are a Colorado native or just passing through this is definitely a... place that’s a must see. I took my mother for her bday and we were able to sit in the library but the whole home Is open tolook around and your if you have time. Our waiter Kelly was a doll and was super attentive to us with our needs. We had the 5course meal which was the only way to go. We had the house salad which had beets, and walnuts with a raspberry vinaigrette, thehouse soup which was a mushroom lentil and was super creamy both our entrees were the sirloin and was the BEST sirloin I haveever had! I had the Apple spiced margarita. The chef Beyour ( I’m sure I spelled that wrong) even came out to greet the tablesand had a wonderful conversation with my mom who was also a chef so they shared their stores of chefs they knew locally.Everyone was so personal and attentive I could have picked a more perfect night to go and I will definitely be making it a pointto return. The food is very good but one primarily goes here for the ambience of eating in a historic manor. The character and atmosphere... varies from room to room, which adds to the charm. The opportunity for unique menu items, such as Elk Wellington or boar is alsovery attractive. It's pricy but worth it at least once. Read more
