Cute little place with decor, great to come sit/work for a bit , love their bobaloca coffee milk tea which is naturally dairy... free - delicious. Pretty good bbt. We got Almond and Jasmine. Good tea flavor on both. Not crazy sweet. Perfect boba texture. Would have been... nice for some black sugar sweetness to come from the boba, but it evened out to be pretty well balanced. 4.5/5 would visitagain if in the area. Read more
Recently my coworkers have been coming back from their breaks with Boba drinks, and I’m always asking them the who, the what,... and most importantly, the where. I finally found out that they got them from Boba Loca, which is right down the street from ourjob. So today was the day I finally decided to check them out and see what they’re all about. Boba Loca is located in a littleshopping plaza right on aviation in Manhattan Beach, and there’s plenty of parking which is always a plus. When I entered, I,unfortunately, wasn't greeted, which kind of sucked considering they weren't busy. I ordered my drink which was a Thai iced teawith Boba. I got two large ones, one for myself and my hubby. Once I ordered, I didn’t have to wait long, which is alwaysgreat. During my very minimal wait, I looked around and checked out their little space. In addition to drinks, they have snacksavailable and pastries. They have a seating area, and it seems like they have board games available to play with. When it wastime to punch my straw in, I immediately took a sip. The Thai tea was delicious, and exactly how it should taste, my only issuewas the Boba itself. The Boba was stuck together, which I didn’t like, and it just wasn't the freshest. Boba really makes aBoba drink a Boba drink. It seemed like a really cool place to hang out with friends and grab a drink or snack and play somegames. I will definitely check them out again, and hopefully, they'll have a good batch of boba! Regular taro milk tea doesn’t have caffeine and comes with boba. I think it’s made with powder but still tastes good. The... boba was soft and chewy. My drink wasn’t super cold, so that was nice so the boba pearls didn’t get rock hard. The drinkwas the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelmingly cloying. Read more
This is not the best tasting coffee spot. I had an espresso, and it was not very good. The baked goods are not that great... either, but they don't make them do it is not their fault. The service was good. The inside was a little dark. It seems to bea nice place for the regulars that stop by for the sheer convenience of the place. Read more
Almost 5 stars dragged me over to Manhattan beach to try this spot. Sadly my expectations were met with realism. This is a fine... coffee shop. It has all the amenities and patash to round out this upper middle class neighborhood. The good... Its got a chillatmosphere and a lively group of regulars. The bad... The Tea's are a bit on the sweet side, which by no means is a deal breakerbut the Java offerings leave me wanting. With power house roasters within arms reach you would think these spots would partnerup and feature those blends but no. They offer mediocre but hot joe. Internet is mediocre as well. Sadly this cafe has gone downhill since the original owner sold it years ago. The milk tea boba was awful. The tea was old and... dark and way too strong and overpowered the flavoring. The atmosphere is dark and depressing. Read more
