I tried the location on Hwy 22 to see if it was as good as their other spot on Hwy 59...and let me tell you, they even exceeded... expectations!! I ordered the "Lil Smokey" which is two choices of meats and two sides...the food was absolutely amazing! Great BBQ place. What makes this different than some others is that the meat is exactly what you'd get if you smoked it... yourself. It has the tasty skin or the burnt ends, real deal. I really liked their tangy Carolina sauce. The sides were greattoo. The mac and cheese was super cheesy. Potato salad and beans weren't bad either. We'll be back. Read more
So I'll start with the positives. The wings had a good tasty sauce, the hand cut fries were good, good portion size and the... cashier was friendly. If any of those positives had to do with actual BBQ they would have gotten a higher rating, but the BBQitself was not good. I rarely include a picture but had to show the barely visible smoke ring on the brisket. The brisket wasnot smoked properly, no smoke flavor. The lean part was tough and the fat had not been rendered properly, also no true bark.The chicken which is hidden under everything in the picture was moist. However you could not tell it was smoked. Good BBQshould not need sauce this did, but I will add that their sauce was decent. Read more
